<b>JOB OVERVIEW
</b><br>
Jimerson Birr is seeking a Contract Collections Attorney to support our high-volume collections practice throughout Florida. The attorney will handle litigation matters from filing through judgment and enforcement, ensuring cases are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable laws.</div><br>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Key Responsibilities</b></h3><br>
<ul>
<li>
Manage consumer and commercial debt collection cases across Florida.</li>
<li>Draft, review, and approve pleadings and motions.</li>
<li>Represent clients at hearings, trials, and other court proceedings (in person and via Zoom) by request.</li>
<li>Oversee complaint filings, service of process, defaults, and judgment enforcement.</li>
<li>Handle contested matters, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations as needed.</li>
<li>Conduct post-judgment remedies such as garnishments, depositions in aid of execution, and asset recovery.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with FDCPA and other consumer protection regulations.</li>
<li>Provide guidance to paralegals on escalated matters and support process improvements.</li></ul><div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</b></h3><br>
<ul>
<li>
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar required.</li>
<li>2&ndash;3 years of experience in collections litigation preferred.</li>
<li>Courtroom experience with hearings and trials.</li>
<li>Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail.</li>
<li>Strong advocacy, organizational, and process-driven skills.</li>
<li>Strong preference given to candidates who currently reside in Florida or Georgia.</li></ul><div></div><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
