</b></h2><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Under general supervision of the Finance Director, perform a variety of financial and related duties in the preparation and administration of Johnson County&rsquo;s financial statements. Collect and analyze financial data and related financial information to prepare the financial statements and assist with county-wide special projects. Review and update financial policies and related documents as necessary.

</b></h2><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting or finance AND two years of experience in accounting/finance, budgeting; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Public sector, governmental accounting and reporting experience preferred.
</b></h2><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Special requirements: </b><b>Must pass background check. Valid driver&rsquo;s license and insurable under County liability coverage. May also require use of personal vehicle for official business.

</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Collect and analyze financial data to prepare the financial statements.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Coordinate with departments to provide financial information for the external audit process.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Utilize the county&rsquo;s financial software to organize data, run reports, and reconcile the county&rsquo;s financial data for the preparation of the financial statements.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Work closely with departments to review and communicate information needed for audit process. Provide explanations to questions and inquiries about the audit process.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Collaborate with outside auditors to facilitate the County&rsquo;s annual audit process.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Coordinate with departments to track the County&rsquo;s fixed assets, maintain a listing annually within the County&rsquo;s financial software and reconcile and report on the assets for the County&rsquo;s financial statements.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Coordinate with departments on Federal grant activity for submittal of information for the financial statements. Assist departments with Federal grant compliance.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Collaborate with departments on understanding the requirements of 2 CRF Part 200, the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards. Additionally, assist departments with understanding and following the County&rsquo;s Federal Procurement Policy.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Review and update the County&rsquo;s financial policies as necessary.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Assist with special projects as needed providing financial documentation and support, as well as helping to establish processes and developing internal controls.
</b></h2></li><li><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Present to the Board of Supervisors concerning financial data, the audit process, updated policies and procedures, and any special projects that are in process.

</li><li>Maintains civil commitment case filing systems, spreadsheets and databases; generates civil commitment hearing statistics.
</li><li>Assists in notification of health professionals regarding status of civil commitment hearing schedules.
</li><li>Updates, enters information and maintains discovery/police report database by adding new matters with case-related costs due, updating for payments received and producing and sending out monthly invoices for past-due matters.
</li><li>Prepares and monitors timely routing of each week&rsquo;s jury panel for attorneys preparing for trials.
</li><li>Types and prepares subpoenas for service, mailing, faxing or emailing and completes service requirements as directed and in a timely manner.
</li><li>Participates in training/educational opportunities and work-related meetings as required.
</li><li>Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County and State policies, procedures, and safety practices.
