Our firm focuses on defending healthcare providers against claims of medical malpractice and responding to investigations from state medical and nursing licensing boards.For nearly 50 years, JGKMW has represented healthcare professionals throughout the Pacific Northwest and has earned recognition for excellence from state and national organizations that evaluate legal talent.We are seeking an associate attorney to assist in all aspects of litigation, including managing discovery, motion practice, working with expert witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and assisting in trial. We offer a hybrid work environment along with strong mentorship and training from highly experienced trial attorneys.Responsibilities<ul><li>Conduct legal research &ndash; JGKMW provides a premium Westlaw subscription including Westlaw Advantage AI and CoCounsel</li><li>Draft and respond to written discovery</li><li>Review and analyze medical records</li><li>Meet with clients, witnesses, and expert witnesses</li><li>Prepare reports to claims professionals</li><li>Take and defend depositions</li><li>Draft and argue motions</li><li>Prepare trial briefs, jury instructions, motions in limine, and other pre-trial documents</li><li>Assist at trial as second chair, with opportunities to advance into first-chair responsibilities</li><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Active Washington State Bar License</li><li>Minimum three (3) years of litigation experience</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Excellent organizational and case management skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Admission to, or ability to obtain admission to, the Alaska Bar</li><li>Experience in healthcare, medical malpractice, insurance defense, or professional liability litigation</li><li>Experience with ProLaw</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Full medical, dental, and vision coverage</li><li>Life insurance and short-term disability coverage</li><li>401(k) participation with potential matching or profit sharing</li><li>Roth and FSA account access</li><li>Paid sick leave and paid time off</li><li>Wellness program</li><li>ORCA card assistance</li><li>One day of office parking per week</li><li>Costco membership reimbursement</li><li>Professional development opportunities</li><li>Hybrid work flexibility</li></ul>Please submit a resume and writing sample for confidential consideration.Pay: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 per yearWork Location: Hybrid remote in Seattle, WA 98104
