Position Overview
The Project Engineer works under the general direction of the Director of Project Engineering in a cGMP‑regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards. This role carries broad responsibility for providing technical oversight and leadership across all phases of project planning, development, and execution. 
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct a variety of complex engineering projects including scope, budgets, schedules, tasks, milestones, and goals.<ul><li>
Manufacturing lines up to $10M</li><li>
Utility upgrades, small and large retrofits</li><li>
Facility improvements and modifications</li></ul></li><li>
Interpret process flow diagrams to size piping accurately and collaborate with Process and Production Engineers on efficient equipment layouts.</li><li>
Partner with the CAD team and review drawing development with the BIM (3D design) group.</li><li>
Facilitate the execution of facility and manufacturing improvements that meet Food Safety and API standards.</li><li>
Oversee construction and installation activities with both external contractors and Jost&rsquo;s in‑house trades.</li><li>
Prepare accurate cost estimates and project schedules to deliver projects on time and within budget.</li><li>
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, and quality teams to ensure optimal designs with minimal disruption to daily operations.</li><li>
Manage a variety of technical projects (utilities, process‑based, building modifications, etc.).</li><li>
Represent Jost Chemical in communication with vendors and contractors to resolve questions and coordinate work.</li><li>
Stay informed on new engineering methods, recommending efficiencies and reliability improvements.</li><li>
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and Jost&rsquo;s Management of Change (MOC) processes.</li></ul> 
Qualifications
Education<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.</li></ul>
Experience<ul><li>
Up to 7 years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Proven ability to deliver successful project outcomes.</li></ul>
Knowledge<ul><li>
Advanced understanding of engineering principles, theories, and methodologies</li><li>
Advanced math and statistics competency</li><li>
Proficiency in MS Office</li><li>
Experience in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing (preferred)</li></ul>
Skills<ul><li>
Basic chemical process knowledge</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively</li><li>
Excellent documentation and attention to detail</li><li>
Strong collaboration skills across Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Operations</li><li>
