Our growing team values integrity, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.Position Summary:At JR Metal Works, the Project Designer plays a central role in creating, modifying, and reviewing designs that meet supplier, customer, and stakeholder needs. This position is responsible for creating and reviewing drawings to meet specifications throughout the job cycle. The ideal candidate is hands-on, high attention to detail and organization, knowledgeable in design, and demonstrate a desire to learn and willingness to do whatever is needed to help the team meet goals and finish projects.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Create and review technical drawings to meet specifications.</li><li>Create job travelers.</li><li>Perform tolerance analysis on critical assemblies.</li><li>Meet with suppliers, customers, and project stakeholders to review/ alter designs as needed.</li><li>Modify designs to correct operating and production issues.</li><li>Provide installation support.</li><li>Attend team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on colleagues' progress, strategize on steps for following week and acquire information about projected emerging product lines.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Strong communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to design per given specifications.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>This position occasionally operates in a professional office environment within a manufacturing facility.</li><li>Occasional exposure to manufacturing floor conditions such as noise, dust, and machinery.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.</li><li>Ability to walk the manufacturing floor and attend on-site meetings as needed.</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits:<ul><li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience.</li><li>Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Paid time off (PTO) and holidays.</li></ul>Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:JR Metal Works, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Training will be provided.</li><li>Knowledge: Able to read and comprehend drawings. Able to follow written and oral instructions. Able to write simple correspondence and work instructions. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals. Able to understand and use the metric system. Able to work independently, and problem solve and communicate effectively. Able to use computers.</li></ul>Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate<ul><li>Must be willing to help fellow team members with tasks that may not necessarily involve normal job duties to relieve burden on them and contribute to team goals when needed.</li><li>MUST BE EXTREMELY DETAIL ORIENTED &amp; ORGANIZED.</li><li>Must be flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.</li><li>Must be able to work efficiently and safely, minimizing distractions during work hours.</li><li>Must be able to work independently, problem solve and communicate effectively.</li><li>Must be willing to work a varied schedule.</li><li>Due to the nature of some parts manufactured, must be a US Citizen.</li><li>Must see the end of the day as when the to-do list is done instead of what the time is on the clock.</li></ul>Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily in an office environment but will occasionally be in a production manufacturing setting with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
