The opportunity:</b></div><div>
The <b>Senior Grants Manager</b> is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of the organization&rsquo;s grant portfolio, including research, proposal development, submission, reporting, and compliance. This role ensures that all grant-related activities align with organizational priorities, funding requirements, and strategic goals. The Senior Grant Manager will also serve as a key liaison between program teams, finance, and external funders.</div><div></div><div><br>
Working with their supervisor, the Chief Financial Officer; their direct report Grants, Compliance, and Audit Manager; as well as the CEO, Chief Program Officer and members of the leadership team, the Senior Grants Manager is responsible for a portfolio of approximately $4M in funding from foundations and $2M from government agencies.</div><div></div><div><b><i><br>
Supervisory Responsibilities:</i></b></div><ul><li>
The Grants and Government Relations Senior Manager oversees the Grants, Compliance, and Audit Manager.</li><li>
Manage using JA&rsquo;s project management tools.</li><li>
Provide oversight and direction in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.</li><li>
Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.</li><li>
Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members that promotes creativity, diversity, problem-solving, innovative solutions, authenticity, honesty, respect, and commitment to the mission.</li><li>
Encourage a team culture that is consistent with JASF&rsquo;s mission, vision, and values.</li><li>
Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.</li></ul><p></p><div><b><br>
What you&rsquo;ll be doing:</b></div><ul><li><b>
Grant Research &amp; Strategy</b><ul><li>
Identify, research, and evaluate potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.</li><li>
Collaborate with leadership and program teams to align grant-seeking strategy with organizational goals.</li><li>
Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and proactively plan submissions.</li><li>
Solicit new funders through various methods, including large/small group presentations and outreach to possible corporate partners and foundations.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div><ul><li><b><br>
Proposal Development &amp; Submission</b><ul><li>
Lead the drafting, editing, and submission of grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials.</li><li>
Ensure proposals meet funder guidelines, deadlines, and organizational standards.</li><li>
Collaborate with applicable staff to gather programmatic data, outcomes, and narratives.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div><ul><li><b><br>
Grant Management &amp; Compliance</b><ul><li>
In conjunction with direct report, monitor active grants to ensure compliance with funder requirements.</li><li>
In conjunction with direct report, prepare and submit accurate and timely grant reports, budgets, and financial documentation.</li><li>
Maintain a comprehensive record of grant agreements, correspondence, and deliverables.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div><ul><li><b><br>
Relationship Management
</b><ul><li>Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with funders and partners through a variety of communication methods including planned site visits.</li><li>
Serve as the primary contact for funder inquiries and site visits.</li><li>
Work with the Director of Philanthropy to develop and implement recognition programs that are of interest and value to supporting partners.</li><li>
Support stewardship efforts, including acknowledgment letters and impact reporting.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b><br>
Department Management
</b><ul><li>Optimize grant writing and progress tracking through workflow processes and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient collection and reporting of grant data.</li><li>
Serve as a leader in the organization, participating in strategic planning, budgeting, and other leadership initiatives.</li><li>
Maintain departmental budget.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div><ul><li><b><br>
Data &amp; Impact Reporting</b><ul><li>
Track grant outcomes, key performance indicators, and program metrics.</li><li>
Provide actionable insights to leadership to inform program planning and funding strategies</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b><i><br>
Performs other related duties as assigned.</i></b></p><p></p><ul><li><br>
 <b>Key experience and expertise you would bring to the role would include:</b></li></ul><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or advanced degree preferred (e.g., MPA, MBA, Nonprofit Management).</li><li>
5+ years of experience in grant writing and management.</li><li>
Proven success securing and managing large grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.</li><li>
Being an effective communicator &ndash; both written and verbal, as well as in public speaking and presentation.</li><li>
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.</li><li>
Excellent attention to detail, especially in data management.</li><li>
Analytical skills to interpret data and translate into compelling narratives.</li><li>
Ability to establish harmonious and collaborative working relationships across teams and senior leadership.</li><li>
Strategic thinking and initiative.</li><li>
Proficiency with grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><i><br>
