We are seeking a kind, high energy team player with exceptional customer service skills, a great sense of humor who is great at multi-tasking and attention to detail to join our ortho family as an Orthodontic Assistant in a busy fast paced environment. This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service while creating value to ensure new and existing patients are prepared for their patient experience.
Primary Duties:<ul><li>
Assists Orthodontist with procedures and treatments</li><li>
Take radiographs and Orthodontic Records</li><li>
Take all appropriate facial and intra-oral photographs
</li><li>Scan for Clear Aligners</li><li>
Prepare patient for appropriate procedures</li><li>
Set up and breakdown room. Disinfect surfaces</li><li>
Sterilize instruments</li><li>
Educate patient regarding their oral health care and treatment plans</li><li>
Assist Orthodontist with Digital Workflows and 3D printing</li><li>
Handle orthodontic emergencies, triage, provide allowable services then schedule follow-up doctor services</li><li>
Assist Dentist with remote consultations/ exams</li><li>
Supply ordering and inventories<ul><li>
Review on-hand bracket &amp; orthodontic wire inventories regularly</li><li>
Review on hand Invisalign supply</li></ul></li><li>
Regular scanner maintenance and updates- monthly</li><li>
All OSHA regulatory sterilizer testing and documentation</li><li>
Monthly OSHA Safety meetings</li><li>
Monthly Equipment and facilities evaluations</li><li>
Small equipment and handpiece maintenance</li><li>
Check schedule to ensure all lab cases are received and checked in before appointment</li><li>
Other duties as directed by Orthodontist</li></ul>
Other Duties (as needed):<ul><li>
Greet and check in patients</li><li>
Confirm patient appointments</li><li>
Schedule appointments</li><li>
Prepare patient charts by accurately transferring and recording data to Practice Management System</li><li>
Prepare, present, and schedule treatment plans</li><li>
Maintain cleanliness of practice as requested</li><li>
Will be required to rotate between both locations</li><li>
Other duties as requested by Practice Manager</li><li>
Preferred ortho experience of at least one year</li></ul>
Skills and Qualifications:<ul><li>
Completion of a dental assisting program; orthodontic assisting certification preferred.</li><li>
Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and terminology.</li><li>
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.</li><li>
Attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols.</li><li>
Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems.</li><li>
Current CPR and radiology certification (as required by state regulations).</li></ul></div>
