Spread fabric, mark designs, and cut patterns usingappropriate tools, minimizing fabric waste.Garment construction: Supervise and guide other tailors to ensure the cutpieces are sewn correctly according to the design and standards. This caninclude stitching, finishing, and overseeing the entire making of garments.Quality control: Perform quality checks on finished garments and correct anycutting-related issues to ensure proper fit and form.Fitting and alterations: Fit garments on customers, mark necessaryalterations, and supervise the adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.Essential skills and qualifications-Technical skills: Proficient in using scissors, electric knives, orcomputer-controlled cutting machines. Expertise in various fabric types andtheir nuances is crucial.Design knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical sketches andunderstand garment construction methods.Manual dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, andprecision are necessary for accurate cutting and stitching.Leadership and communication: Strong communication skills to collaboratewith designers, production managers, and tailors.
