Duties, Responsibilities &amp; Other:

In this role, the successful candidate will lead water resources and stormwater engineering projects related to federal, state and muncipal clients. The candidate will serve in a client-focused role, managing projects and mentoring junior staff. The candidate will work collaboratively with other members of management staff and will be responsible for coordination and completion of various project elements. The candidate will be responsible for executing project work, producing high quality deliverables, maintaining project schedules, coordination with clients and mentoring junior staff.</div><div></div><div><br>
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience (10 preferred) with municipal and state stormwater programs, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permits, stormwater design, inspections and monitoring, TMDL planning, and overseeing projects. The candidate should have experience with business development and client relationship management in the Raleigh area or Southeast with municipal clients and state agencies.</div><div></div><div><br>
The key responsibilities of this role include:</div><ul><li>
Experience leading a team of designers in developing PS&amp;E packages for simple and complex roadway and bridge projects, utilizing state DOT and AASHTO design standards in a plus</li><li>
Project Management experience required, with experience in managing and growing a design team preferred.</li><li>
Experience in developing and managing state DOT projects preferred</li><li>
Experience with MicroStation and GeoPAK design software is preferred.</li><li>
Proposal preparation including scope, schedule and fee. Contract management and billing.</li><li>
Strong design knowledge in transportation required.</li><li>
Professional Engineering License for designated state required.</li><li>
Prepare written technical proposals, assemble teams to meet client criteria, and develop professional relationships.</li><li>
This position requires a demonstrated leader with a broad knowledge of transportation and the processes required to develop design packages utilizing state design standards.</li><li>
Manage a team of designers, CADD technicians and project engineers.</li><li>
Will be required to train and develop staff.</li><li>
Responsible for project delivery of complete transportation design packages including coordination/oversight of multiple design disciplines.</li><li>
Duties include oversight of preparation of plans, technical specifications, quantity takeoffs and construction estimates in accordance with state design manuals and standard drawings.</li><li>

<p>
In this Sr. Water Resources Engineer role, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with other members of the team and will be responsible for coordination and completion of various project elements. The candidate will be responsible for executing project work, producing high quality deliverables, maintaining project schedules, and mentoring junior staff. The candidate will be joining a diverse team with active projects in NC, SC, TN, GA, FL, VA, and DE. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience (6 preferred) with water resources related projects.</p><ul><li>
Provide planning, design, and construction oversight services for DOT, municipal, and private clients in the transportation and civil engineering industry including but not limited to roadway drainage, culvert and bridge hydraulics, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, green infrastructure, and ESD/LID.</li><li>
Completion of hydrologic and hydraulic computations, reports, and modeling (drainage improvement, watershed evaluation, floodplain modeling)</li><li>
Design and preparation of construction drawings for various water resources projects. Projects include: drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, bridge and culvert replacement,</li><li>
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MicroStation, Geopak Drainage, and HEC-RAS required.</li><li>
Coordinate design development of projects and plans and assisting with technical direction of junior staff</li><li>
Assist in the development of multiple projects and deliverables, including plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates, within the schedule and budget. These duties will be performed under the supervision of a project engineer or project manager.</li><li>
Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment. Assignments usually include engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawing and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation.</li><li>

The Engineering Designer will design and prepare drawings for various transportation projects. The Engineering Designer will work closely under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, contributing to engineering calculations, drafting, and coordination of multiple engineering disciplines. This role requires a knowledge of engineering principles, relevant design software such as OpenRoads, MicroStation and AutoCAD, as well as strong communication, technical writing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
