Kean Miller is currently hiring for the position of Tax Associate in our Baton Rouge, New Orleans, or Houston office.
This Associate will advise individual and business clients on matters related to international, federal, state, and local tax issues, corporate formation, acquisitions, mergers, restructurings, and other transactional needs. Candidates will also advise clients regarding international, federal and state tax implications, choice of entity, federal tax audits, administrative appeals, and managing state and local taxing authorities. The associate will have publication credits and experience teaching and presenting in order to assist a New Orleans-based adjunct professor partner with teaching law school classes in international, federal, state and local taxes, writing articles for professional publications and presenting at tax conferences. The associate will demonstrate superior business development skills.
Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li>
J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation required; willing to take LA bar if licensed outside of LA</li><li>
LL.M. in Taxation required from NYU, Georgetown, or Northwestern (Pritzker)</li><li>
Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>
Proven business development track record</li><li>
Initiative-taker who also likes to collaborate with a team</li><li>
Superior academic credentials</li><li>
Impeccable research and writing skills</li><li>
Publication credits</li><li>
Experience teaching in a law school setting</li><li>

Kean Miller is seeking an Energy and Environmental Litigation Partnership Track Associate to work in our Baton Rouge office.
Candidates should have a minimum of two (2) years&rsquo; litigation experience. Candidates should also have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and excellent references. Candidates must demonstrate the ability and the desire to interact directly with Kean Miller&rsquo;s clients and to further develop client and referral relationships. The successful candidate should have a track record of high achievement, the desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment and the ability to work as part of a team. Candidates should be able to independently manage a caseload from beginning to end, regularly handle court appearances and depositions, take the lead with client communication, and provide meaningful updates. A current state bar license is required, but attorneys licensed outside Louisiana who desire to move back to the state and practice in Baton Rouge are invited to apply.
