JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of the Service Technician is to perform superior quality repairs to customer equipment, and make recommendations for further services as determined by the Technician in the course of the servicing. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul><li>Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman</li><li>Performs work directed in order and in a timely and thorough manner. Maintains superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.</li><li>Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer</li><li>Determines if any further repairs or servicing should be recommended to the customer, and communicates such recommendations to the Shop Foreman</li><li>Maintains a level of training and experience with specialized equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer’s equipment</li><li>Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager</li><li>Performs additional repairs as required when any piece of equipment is returned by the customer because of the Technician’s faulty workmanship</li><li>Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked jobs.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance</li><li>Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results</li><li>A VA State Inspector's certification or willingness to obtain it</li><li>A valid class A or B CDL or the willingness to obtain one</li><li>Paccar, Cummins, and CAT Certifications or willingness to obtain</li><li>Personal motivation and self-reliance</li><li>Desire to be the driver of team success</li><li>Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely</li><li>Excellent organization and communication skills</li><li>High school diploma or the equivalent</li><li>Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS: <ul><li>This is a physically demanding position.</li><li>Will stand six to eight hours per shift.</li><li>Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel.</li><li>Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Will use hand and power tools, hoist and test equipment.</li><li>Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.</li></ul>BENEFITS: <ul><li>Kenworth Sales Company promotes a progressive environment with an emphasis on teamwork, customer service, training and personal development.</li><li>Stability – Company is financially strong with an established base of customers and is well-positioned for continued expansion.</li><li>History of Excellence – Work for an award-winning dealership with a reputation for unsurpassed quality and customer service.</li><li>Excellent compensation and benefits package including comprehensive Health and Dental insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) with FLEX Card, Group Life Insurance, Short Term & Long-Term Disability Insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Corporate Holidays, Paid Vacation and Personal Leave, 401(k) plan with company match, and Voluntary Supplemental Insurance plans.</li></ul>Veterans are encouraged to apply!
