Kids Smiles is a community-based, non-profit pediatric dental practice dedicated to raising and expanding the standard of oral health care in under-served communities. We are currently seeking full- or part-time General Dentists to work in a hygiene-only role providing compassionate care to children and teens. Our office is a bustling blend of hygiene-driven and general dentistry. We have experience with this approach, and it benefits both you and the clinic.This position can be based out of our Southwest (Island Ave) or West Philadelphia (Market Street) offices. If assigned to the Southwest or West Philadelphia locations, the ability to work between those two offices as needed (about 4 miles apart) is required.Schedule:<ul><li>Full-time: Monday&ndash;Thursday, 8:45 AM&ndash;5:00/5:15 PM</li><li>Part-time: Flexible within these days/hours</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Do (Hygiene-Focused Dentist)In this role you will focus on preventive and hygiene procedures only &ndash; no restorative work.<ul><li>Develop comprehensive treatment plans with a public-health emphasis and attention to overall health status</li><li>Perform prophylaxis and scaling, with attention to periodontal health</li><li>Administer fluoride treatments, place sealants, and provide adjunctive therapies ( curodont, SDF) as needed.</li><li>Review and interpret radiographs; oversee diagnostic tests as needed</li><li>Develops a comprehensive treatment plan with public health emphasis and attention to overall health status;</li><li>Educate patients and parents/caregivers on prevention, home care, and long-term oral health</li><li>Prescribe medications within scope of practice when appropriate</li><li>Maintain accurate, organized, and legible clinical documentation and referrals</li><li>Participate in quality assurance activities and follow established clinical protocols</li><li>Protect patient privacy and maintain strict confidentiality</li><li>Attend meetings, in-services, and trainings as assigned by the Clinical Director</li><li>Stay current with continuing education to maintain licensure and certifications</li><li>Support and model Kids Smiles policies, culture, and mission</li><li>Provide clinical leadership and oversight of day-to-day office operations related to hygiene care, working closely with the office manager and clinical team</li></ul>You will work with a dedicated team of dental assistants who will support you with radiographs, room turnover, patient seating, and patient flow.What You&rsquo;ll Bring<ul><li>DDS/DMD from an accredited School of Dental Medicine</li><li>Current Pennsylvania dental license (or in process)</li><li>Experience with pediatrics, public health, or Medicaid-based populations strongly preferred</li><li>Commitment to serving under-resourced communities and working with children and families</li><li>Ability to work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and assume a leadership role when needed</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Excellent clinical judgment, interpersonal, and teaching skills</li><li>Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to other Kids Smiles Philadelphia locations as needed</li><li>Ability to apply for loan repayment is also an option as well!</li></ul>Pay: $90.00 - $100.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
