MAIN OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
To provide clean, comfortable, and pleasant environment for museum visitors, employees, and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES<ul><li>
Ensures that all public areas of the museum are always kept neat and clean.</li><li>
Cleans restrooms and makes sure they are furnished with necessary supplies.</li><li>
Cleans walls, doors, windows and vents, to include stainless steel, travertine, and others.</li><li>
Cleans and maintains floors including dust mops, wet mop, vacuuming and other floor cleaning machines.</li><li>
Removes trash from all areas of the museum; cleans up spills and broken glass.</li><li>
Ability to follow SDS instructions.</li><li>
Works closely with other departments and assists in setting up special events and other activities.</li><li>
Identifies and reports problems with building, equipment, or supplies to supervisor.</li><li>
Sanitizes and disinfects to maintain a clean, safe environment.</li><li>
Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.</li></ul>

High school education or equivalent desired.
</li><li>Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment preferred but not required.</li><li>
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
</li><li>Must have ability to operate cleaning equipment.
</li><li>Ability to routinely bend, stretch, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and spend the majority of the day walking and standing.</li><li>
Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.</li></ul>
SCHEDULE
Normal schedule is 40 hours per week on day shift, but individual will be required to work weekends and some nights for special events, as necessary.
