Metro Transit's Vehicle Maintenance division is seeking to fill one (1) Career Service Transit Maintenance Analyst (TMA). This is a single level classification. Incumbents in this classification employ mechanical and analytical expertise to conduct research, develop feasibility studies, organize and/or administer new programs and special projects and assist in carrying out various phases of comprehensive projects. Incumbents may be assigned to work in any one of a variety of technical areas.<br>

The Transit Maintenance Analyst classification is distinguished from the Project/Program Manager series in that project and program duties are only one aspect of the Transit Maintenance Analyst&rsquo;s job. When performing project/program work, incumbents are generally responsible for sub projects but do not develop and manage projects from inception through implementation. Incumbents of the Project/Program Manager series independently manage complex programs or lead a project work team and/or projects on a continuous basis.</p><p><b>
In addition, this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future CS, SDA or TLT vacancies that may occur in this classification and workgroup. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.</b></p><p><b><i><br>
This is a Safety Sensitive Position as defined by the Federal Transit Administration. Plan, organize, and teach classes for maintenance personnel on safe, efficient maintenance practices of various systems, sub-systems, and components of transit vehicles including major component overhaul practices.</li><li>
Develop and conduct maintenance department new employee orientation.</li><li>
Supervise the Mechanic Apprentice program; develop, revise, and implement hiring procedures; develop and administer written and skill tests for applicants; recommend candidates for hire; monitor and document apprentices&rsquo; attendance and progression through the program.</li><li>
Troubleshoot, test, and repair AC/DC circuits, with the ability to design electronic fixes.</li><li>
Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and use a variety of test equipment to analyze various types of data pertaining to electronic propulsion.</li><li>
Conduct needs assessments and analysis of safety, technical proficiency, and productivity issues.</li><li>
Write and/or disseminate information through maintenance service and parts bulletins, service alerts and/or training when procedures or materials are modified.</li><li>
Develop layouts, drawings, and installation procedures for designing parts and/or equipment modifications; conduct quality control and production analysis of on-site bus building and project work; convene supervisory staff to develop changes to improve quality and production standards.</li><li>
Advise management of types and causes of equipment/component failure including unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.</li><li>
Plan, coordinate, and expedite repairs, retrofits and modifications to revenue vehicles. Maintain Master Vehicle Configuration documentation of all retrofits and modifications performed on the revenue fleet.</li><li>
Apply journey-level knowledge of theory, operation, and repair of major systems and sub-systems of heavy-duty diesel, electric battery-powered, and electric trolley transit vehicles.</li><li>
Read and interpret technical drawings pertaining to body, structure, and blueprints that coincide with structural integrity.</li><li>
Conduct bus Quality Assurance inspections, recommend changes to improve quality and production standards, and prepare action plans addressing the correction of issues found during inspections.</li><li>
Oversee bus safety program for assigned work groups, conduct inspections of work sites; develop and conduct safety training; oversee hazardous waste materials handling program as assigned; ensure compliance with established laws and agency regulations; participate in inspections of facilities/equipment for external regulatory agencies; prepare responses as required.</li><li>

This position is under the supervision of the Collaborative Justice Unit (CJU) within the mainstream adult criminal division, but reviews and manages criminal cases assigned to other units and divisions. CJU currently includes the following programs: King County Drug Diversion Court (KCDDC), Regional Mental Health Court (RMHC), Regional Veterans Court (RVC), Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD), Familiar Faces/Vital Initiative (FF), Community Diversion Program (CDP), Therapeutic Alternative Diversion (TAD), Survivors FIRST (SF) and other prosecutorial diversion and mitigation projects. This role requires a two-year commitment to working in KCDDC or other collaborative justice programs. After that time, the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney (DPA) will be able to rotate to other roles within KCPAO.</div><div><b><br>
Drug Diversion Court Description:</b></div><div>
King County Drug Diversion Court (KCDDC) is regarded as a national model among the more than 2,500 therapeutic courts established since its inception in 1994. Using best practice standards, it is designed as a collaborative model with multiple disciplines working together to ensure public safety and participant recovery. It is a voluntary program for adults charged with eligible felony drug charges or related property crimes that are also amenable to treatment and supportive services. It provides a comprehensive set of resources; including inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, mental health treatment and medication access, housing support, employment help and vocational services. Those who complete the program can have a jail or prison sentence significantly reduced or charges dismissed.</div><b><br>
