<div>The Preparedness Section leads the cycle of planning, organizing, equipping, training, exercising, and evaluating Public Health&rsquo;s readiness for emergency responses. The Preparedness Section uses response plans and detailed procedures to help it equitably and efficiently deliver response services during an emergency. The Preparedness Section has led the department&rsquo;s response to the health and medical impacts of over 70 emergencies.</div><div><p>
Public health emergency preparedness combines the deeply values-driven work of the public health field with the dynamic intensity of the emergency management field. The Preparedness Section supports the community in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies using a community-based approach and centering equity in process and outcomes. The fifteen staff of the Preparedness Section are driven to deliver our best everyday knowing that in an emergency the health and well-being of the community depends on the effectiveness of the systems, plans, and procedures we establish and maintain.</p>
The <b>Project/Program Manager I (Emergency Preparedness Coordinator)</b> maintains emergency-related IT systems, equipment, checklists and templates, and supports the operations of a physical or virtual emergency operations center during emergencies. They train staff in emergency systems and procedures and help them build response skills. Your work will bring you into contact with groups like King County IT, Public Health Duty Officers, and Public Health radio operators. You will participate in Public Health emergency responses as a member of the Logistics Section. This position is supervised by the Emergency Operations Manager</div><p><br>
Temporary opportunity. Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) positions are &quot;at-will&quot; positions but are eligible for benefits. This TLT is currently anticipated to last <b>12 months.</b> However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions. The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.</p><p>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Maintain readiness of Public Health&rsquo;s physical and virtual emergency operations centers through regular testing and maintenance of systems and equipment. When an emergency occurs, rapidly setup the physical or virtual emergency operations center, customizing features to the current incident. Ensure the emergency operations center functions well throughout the response.</li><li>
 Maintain content and attachments like checklists and templates for the Public Health Response Guide which describes Public Health&rsquo;s systems for managing emergencies. Improve procedures and materials based on lessons learned from recent emergency responses.</li><li>
Manage Public Health&rsquo;s 24/7 Duty Officer program. Regularly update call triage procedures, coordinate shift coverage, and transfer the 24/7 line to the incoming Duty Officer each Tuesday.</li><li>
Provide training and technical support for Public Health staff on emergency response systems, equipment and procedures.</li><li>
Gather and analyze data to support emergency response capabilities</li><li>
Manage redundant communication systems like the Public Safety Emergency Radio Network program, emergency response position inboxes, Government Emergency Telecommunications System, Wireless Priority System, and a database of emergency contacts.</li><li>
Serve as site administrator for IT systems which support emergency response operations, such as WASecures (Washington State Health Alert Network), WebEOC (Juvare incident management platform), and WATrac (hospital resource tracking system). The emergency operations coordinator will be trained on these systems. You do not need to know how to use them before starting the job.</li><li>
 Maintain Preparedness Section IT assets like a Duty Officer SharePoint site, Public Health Radio Operator SharePoint site, Preparedness Section Calendar, and Key Contacts Database.</li><li>
Serve in the Logistics Section when Public Health responds to emergencies.</li><li>
Support other activities of the Preparedness program&rsquo;s Operations &amp; Systems team as assigned.</li></ul></div><p></p>

Senior Internal Project Manager, Director's Office

This position will work independently, reporting to the Finance Manager. This position will also collaborate across multiple groups within the Airport, as well as other departments and outside agencies. About King County International Airport (Boeing Field)</b></p><p>
KCIA is one of the busiest primary non-hub general aviation airports in the nation. Located just four miles south of downtown Seattle, it averages 180,000 aircraft operations each year. <div>Public Health King County Medical Examiner's Office is looking for a term-limited temporary (TLT) or Special Duty (SDA) <b>Health Program Assistant I (HPAI)</b> to join their team. The responsibilities of the HPA position in the Medical Examiner's Office include performing clerical duties that are specialized and/or technical in nature. The work involves independent judgment of complex and/or sensitive information. Duties include answering and triaging multiple phone lines in a sensitive environment, filing, using complex case management software, researching specialized or technical information, and providing program-specific information to internal and external customers. The main duty of this position will be to process disposition authorizations, which allow funeral homes to bury or cremate decedents. This position performs duties under the direction of the Medical Examiner's Office Administrator III.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Background</b></div><div>
The King County Medical Examiner&rsquo;s Office is responsible for determining the cause and manner of death for deaths that are sudden, unexpected, or unnatural. Staff are hardworking and passionate about their work&mdash;because they know that the work has an immediate impact on King County residents.</div><p><br>
Temporary opportunity. Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) positions are &quot;at-will&quot; positions but are eligible for benefits. <b>This TLT is currently anticipated to last 18 months</b>. However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions. The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.</p><div>

Work Schedule</b></div><div>

Answer multiple phone lines and route to the right sections of the office.</li><li>
Monitor shared email accounts to identify and fulfill incoming requests including disposition authorization, report requests, subpoenas, contracts, and other requests.</li><li>
Review information from funeral directors and medical certifiers, performing data entry on requests generating an official record for review.</li><li>
Present information about disposition review cases to forensic pathologists and forensic medicolegal death investigators for approval and appropriate follow-up investigations.</li><li>
Provide official approval to funeral homes prior to death certificate filing.</li><li>
Scan, copy, file, and mail records containing protected health information.</li><li>
Utilize specific software to enter test results, close cases, and process internal paperwork.</li><li>
Enter and correct information in the KCMEO&rsquo;s database and the Washington Health and Life Event System (WHALES).</li><li>
Create folder, close cases, create affidavits for correction and other administrative duties.</li><li>
Review daily requests to ensure appropriate billing and scan all daily disposition requests for proper retention.</li><li>
Maintain and dispose of records consistent with the King County retention policy.</li><li>
Review billing statements with funeral homes and assure accounts remain current as services are provided.</li><li>
Interpret state statutes and King County policies regarding releasing public and confidential Medical Examiner records.</li><li>
Assist administration team by answering telephones, managing records releases and public records requests.</li><li>
Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, weekly conferences, and program staff.</li><li>
Release property to funeral agencies.</li><li>
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li></ul></div><p></p>
