About the Role:</p><p>
Transit Base Chiefs provide day-to-day leadership within Bus Operations by balancing employee support, operational priorities, safety, labor relations, and customer service. <div>The Preparedness Section leads the cycle of planning, organizing, equipping, training, exercising, and evaluating Public Health&rsquo;s readiness for emergency responses. The Preparedness Section uses response plans and detailed procedures to help it equitably and efficiently deliver response services during an emergency. The Preparedness Section has led the department&rsquo;s response to the health and medical impacts of over 70 emergencies.</div><div><p>
Public health emergency preparedness combines the deeply values-driven work of the public health field with the dynamic intensity of the emergency management field. The Preparedness Section supports the community in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies using a community-based approach and centering equity in process and outcomes. The fifteen staff of the Preparedness Section are driven to deliver our best everyday knowing that in an emergency the health and well-being of the community depends on the effectiveness of the systems, plans, and procedures we establish and maintain.</p>
The <b>Project/Program Manager I (Emergency Preparedness Coordinator)</b> maintains emergency-related IT systems, equipment, checklists and templates, and supports the operations of a physical or virtual emergency operations center during emergencies. They train staff in emergency systems and procedures and help them build response skills. Your work will bring you into contact with groups like King County IT, Public Health Duty Officers, and Public Health radio operators. You will participate in Public Health emergency responses as a member of the Logistics Section. This position is supervised by the Emergency Operations Manager</div><p><br>
Temporary opportunity. Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) positions are &quot;at-will&quot; positions but are eligible for benefits. This TLT is currently anticipated to last <b>12 months.</b> However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. The Executive Assistant will provide comprehensive, high-level administrative support to Executive Zahilay, applying specialized administrative expertise, sound judgment, and exceptional organizational skills. As the highest-level Executive Assistant role in King County, this position is expected to model the administration&rsquo;s values by serving with integrity, showing initiative, and approaching challenges with a collaborative mindset. This role requires strong attention to detail, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to anticipate needs and adapt in a fast-paced environment. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
<ul><li>Provide direct administrative support to the King County Executive, serving as the primary point of contact for all scheduling needs.
<ul><li>Work closely with the Special Assistant to the Executive, which provides additional scheduling and administrative support for the Executive.</li></ul></li><li>
Manage the day-to-day administrative operations for the Executive, including scheduling all appointments, meetings, speaking engagements, and other commitments.<ul><li>
Prepare, compile, and distribute background materials and supporting documents for meetings and follow-up actions, to ensure the Executive and support staff are fully briefed for all engagements.</li><li>
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to gather accurate, timely information into a briefing binder that will guide the week ahead.</li><li>
Coordinate with the Executive Protection Unit on all engagements needing security oversight and support.</li></ul></li><li>
Maintain an efficient and professional flow of information between the Executive and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on organizational priorities and readiness for all engagements.</li><li>
Serve as a liaison between the Executive, department leadership, county staff, and community partners, fostering strong working relationships and supporting effective collaboration.</li><li>
Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization, modeling professionalism and supporting effective communication and teamwork.</li><li>
Coordinate and review all travel arrangements for the Executive, including preparing itineraries, confirming lodging and transportation, and processing travel reconciliation.</li><li>
When necessary, staff the Executive at assigned events, ensuring logistics run smoothly and the Executive is supported throughout the engagement.</li></ul><ul><li>
Assist in shaping new roles and responsibilities as the needs of the Executive Office evolve.</li><li>

Bachelor's degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant job experience.</li><li>
Experience with and knowledge of the publicly funded substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment system of King County and the state of Washington.</li><li>
Experience with, and an understanding of federal, state, and local government funding, as well as program mandates related to substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment.</li><li>
Demonstrated recent experience providing treatment services to the diverse populations served by the publicly funded treatment systems in the state of Washington.</li><li>

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.</li></ul><div></div><div><br>
