Job Overview:Kings Local Schools is replacing a full-time employee due to retirement.We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to accurately process payroll for district employees, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain complete, up-to-date records.Candidates should demonstrate excellent organization, attention to detail, and confidentiality.Brief Description: <ul><li>Serves as a Payroll Specialist performing tasks related to Payroll &amp; Benefits</li><li>Administers bi-monthly payroll and compensations</li><li>Assists in the administration of employee benefits</li></ul>Essential Functions:<ul><li>Collects data and prepares payment of salaries and overtime</li><li>Enters attendance and absences</li><li>Gathers new hire information and enters data</li><li>Assists in the preparation and remittance of payroll withholdings</li><li>Assists in the monthly payment of insurance premiums</li><li>Assists in benefits administration and helps employees with benefit questions/issues</li><li>Works with other Treasurer&rsquo;s staff on monthly, quarterly, and annual procedures</li><li>Works with the Treasurer to complete Affordable Care Act compliance, W2s, new contracts, salary notices, and severance payments</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience in payroll and/or governmental accounting preferred</li><li>Experience with USAS/USPS accounting software preferred but not required</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office</li><li>Associates degree or higher preferred but not required</li><li>Professionalism and the ability to protect the confidentiality of all pertinent information</li><li>Effective communication skills</li><li>Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks</li></ul>Employment Status: Full time / all year, 8 hours per day, 260 days per year.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $77,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Choose your own hours</li><li>Day shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li><li>No nights</li><li>No weekends</li></ul>Work Location: In person
