The Kitsap County Elections Division of the Auditor's Office is seeking temporary employees to help administer elections for more than 200,000 registered voters across Kitsap County.</p><p>

Whether assisting voters at Vote Centers, processing ballots, or supporting large-scale election operations, Election Workers play a vital role in ensuring every voice is heard and every vote is counted.</p><p></p><p><b>
As a Temporary Election Worker, you will:</b></p><ul><li><p><b>
Support</b> the administration of local, state, and federal elections by performing assigned duties across ballot processing, voter services, and Vote Center operations.</p></li><li><p><b>
Ensure</b> accurate and timely processing of voter registrations, ballot materials, and election-related data for a county-wide electorate exceeding 200,000 voters.</p></li><li><div><b>
Assist</b> voters directly by providing customer service at Vote Centers, answering incoming calls, and delivering clear, accurate election information.</div></li><li><div><b>
Process</b> incoming ballots and voter registration forms using strict rules, procedures, and security protocols to maintain election integrity.</div></li><li><div><b>
Maintain</b> precise data entry and validation within election systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.</div></li><li><div><b>
Collaborate</b> with Elections Division staff and fellow Election Workers to meet high-volume operational demands during election cycles.</div></li><li><div><b>
Support</b> production and logistics operations, including preparing, delivering, reconciling, and securing election materials.</div></li><li><div><b>
Operate</b> efficiently in fast-paced environments, balancing accuracy with productivity during peak election periods.</div></li><li><div><b>
Adapt</b> to various assignments and work environments, including office settings, public spaces, and outdoor locations.</div></li></ul><p></p><b>
Professional Credentials / Licensing</b><ul><li><div><b>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license</b> (required for certain production and ballot collection roles): Ensures the ability to support secure transport of election materials when assigned.</div></li></ul><b>
Leadership / Management Experience</b><ul><li><div><b>
Ability to work independently and as part of a team</b>: While not a supervisory role, reliability, accountability, and collaboration are critical in time-sensitive election operations.</div></li></ul><b>
Technical / Industry Background</b><ul><li><div><b>
Basic computer proficiency</b>: Required to perform ballot processing, data entry, voter lookups, and Vote Center tasks accurately and efficiently.</div></li><li><div><b>
Data entry experience</b>: Supports the high standards of accuracy and integrity required in election administration.</div></li></ul><b>
Specialized Expertise</b><ul><li><div><b>
Attention to detail and proofreading skills</b>: Essential for maintaining voter record accuracy and ballot processing integrity.</div></li><li><div><b>

Onboarding of selected candidates will take place in May of 2026. Training will commence in May or June for the 2026 election cycles.</div></div><p></p>

Driving Requirements (If applicable)</b></p><div>
The successful incumbent must meet the driving requirements of this position and submit a copy a current driving record/abstract (from state of residency) to review for eligibility to drive for Kitsap County prior to employment. The successful incumbent must obtain a valid Washington State Driver&rsquo;s License prior to hire and maintain a satisfactory driving record as outlined in the Kitsap County Vehicle Use Policy. The office is open 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. Monday through Friday. The number of work hours will vary according to the workload. During peak election cycles some positions may work evenings and weekends.</li><li>
