Position Title: Secretary/Bookkeeper (1 Year Position)Location: Shapleigh SchoolReports To: PrincipalPosition Start Date: As soon as a suitable candidate is foundApplication Deadline: June 10, 2026 or until a suitable candidate is foundThe Kittery School District is currently seeking a Secretary/Bookkeeper at Shapleigh School. This position is Monday-Friday from 8AM to 4PM. Contracted for 200-220 days.The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with Quickbooks, purchase orders, prior office experience and excellent customer service skills, be able to maintain and operate standard office equipment, be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. The candidate should have a working knowledge of standard software applications.
 
Must be able to work in a very busy environment and maintain composure in stressful situations. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinates development and distribution of various reports through Infinite Campus Monitors fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, and expenses are within budget limits Processes new enrollments Schedules field trips and transportation Performs bookkeeping functionsOrders and maintains supplies Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent Experience as a secretary/bookkeeper Demonstrated typing and filing skills Excellent customer service skills Successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference checkPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
