Job Description &ndash; Purchasing &amp; Inventory ManagerKlatt Works is seeking a Purchasing &amp; Inventory Manager to lead procurement and inventory management activities in support of a growing portfolio of electro-optical aerospace products. This is a manager-level individual contributor role within a small, fast-growing startup environment. While the position does not initially include direct reports, it carries significant responsibility and ownership, with opportunities for expanded leadership as the company grows.This position serves as the sole purchaser for the company and owns inventory management for a focused set of 5&ndash;10 production SKUs, representing complete, certified hardware products. Due to the nature of the products and operating environment, exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through are essential to success in this role.The position is on-site at Klatt Works&rsquo; Pleasanton, California office. Candidates may reside anywhere in the broader Bay Area but must be available for full-time on-site work.Klatt Works anticipates significant growth over the next year, including increased production activity and operational scale. This role is critical to ensuring purchasing, inventory, and material control processes scale accurately and reliably alongside that growth.Primary Responsibilities:Purchasing / Procurement<ul><li>Lead all purchasing and procurement activities for production and development hardware with a high degree of accuracy and documentation discipline</li><li>Source, quote, and procure electro-optical, electronic, and mechanical components where part accuracy, revision control, and supplier compliance are critical</li><li>Manage supplier relationships, pricing, lead times, and delivery performance with careful tracking and follow-up</li><li>Create, place, and track purchase orders to support manufacturing schedules, ensuring correct part numbers, revisions, quantities, and delivery requirements</li><li>Identify, communicate, and resolve material shortages, discrepancies, and supply chain risks before they impact production</li><li>Support supplier qualification and sourcing strategies as production volume increases</li><li>Coordinate closely with engineering and quality on part changes, substitutions, deviations, and non-conformances</li></ul>Inventory Management<ul><li>Own inventory accuracy and integrity across production and secondary inventory locations</li><li>Maintain inventory levels aligned with production plans while ensuring traceability, accountability, and data accuracy</li><li>Perform and document cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory audits with meticulous attention to discrepancies</li><li>Track material usage across multiple product SKUs with precision</li><li>Support lot tracking, traceability, and documentation requirements for certified hardware</li><li>Work directly with manufacturing to ensure correct material availability at the right time and location</li></ul>Operations &amp; Startup Support<ul><li>Collaborate daily with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and leadership</li><li>Support production planning and execution with accurate and timely material data</li><li>Develop, document, and continuously improve purchasing and inventory processes</li><li>Help implement and refine ERP / MRP and inventory management tools with an emphasis on data correctness</li><li>Perform other operational duties as required in a startup environment, maintaining the same high standard of detail and reliability</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or operations</li><li>Experience supporting hardware or manufacturing operations where precision and accuracy are required</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage complex details without losing sight of priorities</li><li>Strong organizational skills and a methodical, disciplined approach to work</li><li>Ability to work independently and consistently follow processes</li><li>Comfortable operating in a small, fast-growing startup environment</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Reliable on-site attendance; attendance is an essential function of the role</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience purchasing electro-optical, electronic, or precision components</li><li>Aerospace, aviation, medical device, or other regulated industry experience</li><li>ERP or MRP system experience</li><li>Familiarity with quality systems, traceability, configuration control, or controlled documentation</li><li>Prior experience scaling operations in a growing company</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Associate (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Purchasing &amp; Inventory Management: 3 years (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Pleasanton, CA 94588 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
