Our season kicks off in April and runs through November, with the possibility of extending into December. As a seasonal team member, you&rsquo;ll enjoy winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or pursue the activities you love&mdash;<b>while still keeping your benefits all year long</b></p>
<p>This position is responsible to receive and document complete and accurate order information from customers in order to maximize service while minimizing non-productive time of equipment and personnel. Ensuring on time and efficient use of concrete resources by dispatching trucks in a timely manner to ensure the targeted service level and cost</p>
<p>Typical schedule during production season is 55 hours per week Monday - Friday, with two Saturdays a month.</p>
<p><b>COMPENSATION:</b></p>
<p>Wage range is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on experience.</p>
<p><b>DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES </b>(summary of components that make up the job)</p>
<div><ul><li>Answers phone to take/alter customer's order and complete all required information. Ensure the customer understands all relevant company policies such as &ldquo;will calls&rdquo;, additional products over amount ordered, towing charges, and our driver's responsibilities.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Obtains all pertinent information from customer including but not limited to: customer code, name and relevant credit information; project or quote number and job name; delivery address and instructions to the jobsite; required numbers such as PO, lot/block, customer job number; concrete mix, slump and admixes; pouring method and number of unloading sites; use of the concrete; desired job start time; delivery rate in spacing, quantity per hour or number of trucks; travel time to and from the jobsite; any restrictions in load size; special truck types required or not desired whether the order is a &quot;go&quot; or &quot;will call&quot;. If &ldquo;will call&rdquo;, agree on a time of day to release and agree what will happen if the call is not received.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Verify the order back to the customer to ascertain the accuracy of the information. Inform the customer of warnings concerning product hazards, load limits, vehicle weights and limitations.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Verify method of payment for each order &ndash; does the customer have a charge account or do we need to process a credit card or check payment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Inform dispatch personnel of special instructions and give adequate notice to ensure proper materials are available</li></ul>
<ul><li>Complete understanding of dispatch system, process and maintenance (quotes, product line items, pricing, mix designs, etc.)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to read maps and follow directions</li></ul>
<ul><li>Superior customer service skills, understanding of concrete properties and mix designs, knowledge of applicable government and industry regulations</li></ul>
<ul><li>Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

DISPATCH - CUSTOMER SERVICE - CONCRETE (SEASONAL)

<div><p><b>Knife River has an immediate opening for an Aggregate Scale Person based at our Tumalo office location.</b></p>
<p><b>
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:</b></p>
<ul><li>Operate truck scales through computer terminal</li></ul>
<ul><li>Answer telephones and assist customers both in person and remotely</li></ul>
<ul><li>Collect and reconcile daily cash sales (credit card processing, etc.)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Process end of day paperwork and transmit to office</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist dispatch as needed</li></ul>
<ul><li>Drive to different jobsites within the day to provide lunch coverage and as needed</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assist with front desk coverage and other duties as assigned</li></ul>
<ul><li>Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed</li></ul>

Minimum Qualifications:</b></p>
<ul><li>Aptitude for dealing with customers, sales and problem solving</li></ul>

<ul><li>Legible handwriting, good organizational and communication skills, general math and writing skills</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be people oriented, able to provide exceptional customer service, empathetic and flexible</li></ul>
<ul><li>Previous scale experience is a plus</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of market area and previous construction experience is helpful</li></ul>
