Purpose of JobThe purpose of this classification is to provide management, systems development, and support, utilizing the most appropriate technologies and solutions for their team.Essential Functions:&middot; Leads the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise software applications and systems.&middot; Provides technical leadership, guidance, mentoring, and code review for software development staff and project teams.&middot; Establishes and enforces software development standards, coding practices, security requirements, and architectural guidelines.&middot; Designs efficient, accessible, scalable, and secure software solutions for county departments and users.&middot; Evaluates emerging technologies, software platforms, and development tools to determine feasibility and value for Knox County operations.&middot; Collaborate with county departments, stakeholders, and vendors to gather business requirements and develop effective technical solutions.&middot; Oversees software integration with third-party systems, APIs, databases, and cloud services.&middot; Troubleshoots and resolves complex application, system, and user issues.&middot; Manages software development project priorities, timelines, deliverables, and technical resources.&middot; Coordinates and participates in system testing, quality assurance, and change management processes.&middot; Ensures software applications comply with security standards, accessibility requirements, and applicable regulations.&middot; Creates and maintains technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, standards, procedures, and end-user materials.&middot; Assists in strategic planning for application modernization, system improvements, and long-term technology initiatives.&middot; Trains and supports users and technical staff on software systems and processes.&middot; Remains current with industry trends, programming languages, frameworks, cybersecurity practices, and development methodologies.&middot; Participates in after-hours support, system maintenance, and emergency response activities as needed.Required Qualifications:&middot; Education: Bachelor's Degree&middot; Certifications (Required By Hire):&middot; Certifications (Required After Hire): None&middot; Experience: 5 years&middot; Preferences: NoneOther Requirements: This position may require you to obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification throughout your employment with Knox County IT. Team Lead Software Developer

Purpose of JobThe purpose of this position is to provide expert knowledge and support the ERP business applications.Essential Functions&middot; Supports application software for all Departments, including Finance, Human Resources and Procurement.&middot; Troubleshoot and resolve complex application access, performance, and system setup problems&middot; Work with vendor technical support staff as necessary&middot; Works with users in resolving user/application issues, or to enhance user services.Performs application administration, including user security and program configuration setups and maintenance.&middot; Develop operational and maintenance processes, schedules, and documentation for applications&middot; Create and support required reports, extracts, and interfaces in response to business user needs&middot; Documents issues and resolutions and creates knowledge base articles as needed.&middot; Executes application installations, configurations, upgrades, patches and required infrastructure (operation system environment, program and user security, network capacity and throughput, database backups) for applications and associated processes.&middot; Develop testing plans and perform testing on application&middot; Trains users in software application packages, both commercial and specially designed.&middot; Oversees and participates in pre-user testing of applications.&middot; Provide infrastructure support for application testing&middot; Participate in internal and external auditing reviews&middot; Participate in disaster recovery planning; administer database backup and recovery processes&middot; Respond to and report immediately if called upon by local regional or central office supervisors as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Mayor&rsquo;s Office&middot; Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours&middot; Perform other IT Department duties as requiredMinimum Training &amp; Qualifications&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field and minimum of five (5) years&rsquo; related experience.&middot; Equivalent experience may be substituted for the education requirement.This position may require you to obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification throughout your employment with Knox County IT.
