Job Description</div> 
Position Name: Analyst, Category Management &ndash; Global Procurement.
This role is focused on category management within procurement, specifically for indirect spend categories. The goal is to ensure optimal business outcomes through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
Stakeholder Collaboration<ul><li>
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs.</li><li>
Provide expert advice on procurement strategies to shape demand and drive value.</li></ul>
Category Management<ul><li>
Support and manage specific categories of indirect spend.</li><li>
Develop sourcing programs that deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies.</li></ul>
Risk &amp; Performance Management<ul><li>
Implement strategies to manage procurement risks.</li><li>
Integrate company policies into procurement practices.</li><li>
Analyze spend and savings data to inform decisions.</li></ul>
Supplier Relationship Management<ul><li>
Manage strategic contracts and relationships with suppliers.</li><li>
Promote supplier development and continuous improvement.</li><li>
Ensure best value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.</li></ul>
Team Accountability<ul><li>
Contribute to the goals and objectives of the Procurement Business Group.</li><li>
Work collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes.</li></ul>
Key Responsibilities
Productivity Metrics &amp; Data Analysis<ul><li>
Design and develop insights related to spend and savings metrics.</li><li>
Apply analytical and statistical techniques to interpret large-scale datasets.</li><li>
Build forecast models based on global supply-demand-price trends for selected commodities.</li></ul>
Market Research &amp; Forecasting<ul><li>
Conduct primary and secondary research to gather market intelligence.</li><li>
Identify key drivers of commodity pricing, demand, and cost.</li><li>
Analyze global trends to support business planning and negotiation strategies.</li></ul>
Planning &amp; Negotiation Support<ul><li>
Prepare planning guides to assist in negotiations.</li><li>
Provide analytical support during negotiation processes.</li></ul>
Cross-functional Collaboration<ul><li>
Support company-wide initiatives that impact performance.</li><li>
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to align procurement strategies with business goals.</li></ul>
 Spend Analysis &amp; Optimization<ul><li>
Deep dive into various datasets to identify spend patterns and trends.</li><li>
Create visibility into spend leakages and drive initiatives to optimize the supply base.</li><li>
Highlight opportunities to leverage supplier volume for cost savings.</li><li>
Track and report save-to-spend ratios to Procurement teams.</li></ul>
Analytical Support &amp; Modeling<ul><li>
Provide analytical support to category managers for spend optimization.</li><li>
Analyze complex data and translate it into actionable insights for decision-making.</li></ul>
Dashboarding &amp; Reporting<ul><li>
Design and maintain analytics dashboards to visualize procurement performance.</li><li>
Identify and report on tail spend categories to support strategic sourcing decisions.</li></ul>
Compliance &amp; Awareness<ul><li>
Maintain awareness of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health &amp; Safety) standards to ensure alignment with organizational policies.</li></ul>
The role is based in our office in Chennai &ndash; but it goes without saying that the remote &amp; hybrid working is a part of our modern ways of working.
To achieve these goals, the qualifications and experience required for the role focused on category management within procurement, specifically for indirect spend categories.<ul><li>
Experience in procurement, supply chain analytics, or market intelligence roles with exposure to global operations.</li></ul>
Technical Skills<ul><li>
Proficiency in Power BI or similar reporting tools.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of SAP environments and data extraction.</li><li>
Experience with statistical tools like R and Python (preferred).</li></ul>
Functional Knowledge<ul><li>
Solid understanding of procurement and supply chain principles.</li><li>
Experience in project management and data management tools.</li><li>
Ability to prepare and deliver training materials.</li></ul>
Behavioural &amp; Soft Skills<ul><li>
Experience handling global stakeholders and operational requests.</li><li>
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical skills, and collaborative team player.</li><li>
Excellent communication, influencing, and networking abilities.</li></ul>
