Job Description 
JOB POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer/Planner role is responsible to purchase parts and obtain quotes from both internal and external suppliers. This role works to identify and best utilize a network of preferred and approved suppliers by working with Global Sourcing Department. The Buyer Planner evaluates effectiveness of suppliers in terms of pricing, on-time delivery, performance, and quality. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain quotations, prices, and deliver times from both internal and external suppliers.</li><li>
Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine compatibility with company objectives.</li><li>
Coordinate purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Evaluate inventory levels and adjust order requirements accordingly.</li><li>
Review opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials offered.</li><li>
Create Purchase Orders and maintain purchasing data in SAP.</li><li>
Work with suppliers to resolve non-conforming product issues and expedite orders.</li><li>
Approve invoices for payment and reconcile receipt and invoice discrepancies.</li><li>
Work with Global Sourcing to identify and best utilize a network of Preferred and Approved suppliers.</li><li>
Identify and implement cost saving initiatives.</li><li>
Evaluate effectiveness of suppliers in terms of pricing, on time delivery performance, and quality.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 
Qualifications 
REQUIRED SKILLS &amp; COMPETENCIES:<ul><li>
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.</li><li>
Knowledge SAP system and associated purchasing and inventory modules.</li><li>
Knowledge of Manufacturing processes and ability to read blueprints is preferred.</li></ul> 
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field.</li><li>Three or more years of buying experience in a manufacturing environment.</li></ul> 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Up to 10% travel required</li></ul>

Day-to-day tasks within the operational goals and standards area with direct and long-term impact on the field of Global Procurement</li><li>
Planning and coordination of operational purchasing related tasks, including data extraction, review, follow-up, data maintenance</li><li>
Problem solving by updating and modifying existing working methods and improving the quality of service and data</li><li>
Communication with internal and external stakeholders / suppliers regarding operational purchasing detail maintenance and influencing the alignment</li><li>
Ensuring alignment between contract and commercials</li></ul>
KPI:
<ul><li>Deliver on agreed tasks with data quality on time</li><li>
Timely maintenance of the details pertaining to PO expediting activities</li><li>
Ensure prompt support, visibility and quality of detail for Operational Purchasing</li><li>
Reduced data quality errors and overall KPI compliance</li><li>
Continuous improvement initiatives / projects &ndash; with focus to reduce time and cost to support decisions</li><li>

Technical Competence:<ul><li>
Strong working knowledge of SAP MM.</li><li>
Hands on experience in Purchase Requisition-Purchase Order-Goods Receipt process, Exception invoice handling, Invoice auditing for error identification. Exposure towards Indirect category products &amp; services will be added advantage.</li><li>
Good knowledge on Purchasing Master Data and related data maintenance processes &ndash; like Purchase Info Record, etc.</li><li>
Communication / coordination with supplier will be an added advantage</li><li>
Knowledge of process improvement such as Kaizen, Lean 6 Sigma and atomization.</li><li>
Good exposure to Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, PPT, Power App, Teams and SharePoint.</li></ul>

Purchase Order expediting (PR-PO-GR management) including support for the Purchasing process</li><li>
Purchase Order confirmation follow-up &amp; update, Delivery follow-up &amp; update including supplier coordination for material delivery/shipment tracking, follow-up, reporting and issue resolution</li><li>
Understanding of stock position in the system, shortage follow-up and coordination for the same</li><li>
Coordinating directly with suppliers on PO-Delivery-Invoice processes, as required</li><li>
Master data quality monitoring, coordination, reporting and support data clean-up</li><li>
Direct Communication Channel with all related teams</li><li>
Invoice Handling/Auditing</li><li>
Handling invoices in SAP and releasing it for payment per agreed process</li><li>
Audit invoices to identify overcharges and discrepancies</li><li>
Co-ordinate with supplier and internal team to rectify the invoices for errors and obtaining due credits</li></ul></li><li>
