Kumon Math and Reading Center of Studio City is seeking a part-time learning center teaching assistant &amp; grading assistant. We are searching for bright, motivated, outgoing, friendly and QUALIFIED individuals with EXCELLENT basic and advanced Math and Reading skills and a desire to help students reach their full potential in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Being a Kumon Assistant is a long-term, but a part-time job.This is an excellent opportunity for high school students, college students, retired educators and people who are seeking for second part-time job.The Center is open for class on Mondays, Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Responsibilities may include:<ul><li>Distributing and grading homework assignments efficiently and accurately</li><li>Organizing and managing the classroom</li><li>Working and observing students during class sessions</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Quick learner with outgoing and service-oriented personality</li><li>Detailed oriented, energetic, proactive, and great multitasker</li><li>Punctual, well organized, and reliable</li><li>Good Math and Reading skills</li><li>Enjoys working with children</li><li>Excellent team player</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Long-term commitment for at least 1 year minimum (this is a year-round part-time job)</li><li>High level of patience while working with young students</li><li>Motivated, helpful, responsible, efficient and punctual</li><li>Ability to create an enjoyable learning environment for all students</li><li>Ability to multitask when working with multiple students (3-8 years old)</li><li>PREFERENCE given to candidates with prior Kumon or tutoring experience and/or university degree in relevant field of study</li><li>Good instructional skills, an ability to observe, understand and communicate with children</li><li>High level of patience while working with young children</li><li>Ability to convey ideas and concepts in a simple and clear manner to children</li><li>Responsible, reliable, punctual, able to multi-task and follow directions</li><li>Math Assistant: Strong Math aptitude; high proficiency in Algebra; strength in calculus, trigonometry is a plus</li><li>Reading Assistant: Strong proficiency in high school literature</li><li>Early Learners (EL Assistant): Comfortable working with preschoolers &ndash; Ages: 3 and Up</li></ul>Responsibilities:<ul><li>Grading homework &amp; classwork assignments</li><li>Leading children with class work using the Kumon Method</li><li>Communication with other assistants</li><li>Center management</li><li>Any other tasks may be required for the operation of the center</li><li>Making sure students follow center routine</li><li>Inputting data</li><li>Preparing upcoming material</li><li>General office work</li></ul>This is a part-time position. Pay is DOE and work hours/shifts are flexible (to be discussed during the interview). Current high school students are welcome to apply.
