If you're a proactive team player who thrives on making a real difference in people&rsquo;s lives, we encourage you to apply.ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties: <ul><li>Examine, diagnose, and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including diseases, injuries, and deformities.</li><li>Perform comprehensive wound care and minor surgical procedures.</li><li>Fit patients for custom orthotics and provide physical therapy and medication as needed.</li><li>Interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and gait analysis, to develop personalized treatment plans.</li><li>Manage patient records and clinical documentation in compliance with our Patient Privacy and HIPAA Compliance Policy.</li><li>Actively participate in our internal training and policy updates to stay current with American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and OSHA best practices.</li><li>Travel to and provide care at partner nursing home facilities.</li></ul>Administrative Duties: <ul><li>Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and deformities of the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg. This is the core function, encompassing everything from routine care to complex cases.</li></ul>Administrative Duties<ul><li>Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. This includes thorough and accurate documentation of all patient encounters, diagnoses, treatments, and communications.</li><li>Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure a smooth patient flow, from scheduling and check-in to billing and follow-up.</li><li>Assist with billing documentation and insurance verification as needed, ensuring that services are properly coded and that patients' insurance information is correct.</li><li>Provide comprehensive wound care, a critical duty given the high prevalence of foot-related wounds, particularly in patients with diabetes or vascular issues.</li><li>Perform minor surgical procedures, such as ingrown toenail removals, wart excisions, and other in-office procedures.</li><li>Administer medication and physical therapy, including prescribing oral medications, giving injections, and guiding patients through therapeutic exercises.</li><li>Interpret diagnostic tests, like X-rays, MRIs, and gait analysis, to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.</li><li>Fit patients for orthotics, which involves taking molds or scans of patients' feet and prescribing custom orthotic inserts.</li><li>Conduct patient consultations and provide pre- and post-operative care instructions to ensure successful outcomes.</li><li>Travel to and provide care at partner nursing home facilities, extending the practice's services to a crucial patient population that may have mobility issues.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Safety: <ul><li>Follow all OSHA safety protocols and clinic infection control procedures.</li><li>Ensure the proper and safe disposal of all biohazardous materials.</li><li>Actively participate in regular training and policy updates to stay current with best practices.</li><li>Adhere to all clinic business policies, including those related to patient care, and employee conduct, to ensure consistent and professional operations.</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li>Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited school.</li><li>Completion of a Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR) program.</li><li>Current and unrestricted Louisiana license to practice Podiatric Medicine.</li><li>Current DEA registration.</li><li>Board certification or eligibility is preferred.</li><li>Specialized training or experience in wound care is highly preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.</li><li>Proficiency with software such as Windows 365, and Outlook.</li><li>Exceptional communication and organizational skills.</li><li>A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.</li><li>Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.</li><li>Current CPR certification.</li></ul>Physical Requirements <ul><li>Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the day.</li><li>Manual dexterity necessary to assist with procedures and handle medical equipment.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.</li><li>Frequent bending, stooping, or kneeling.</li><li>Repetitive hand and wrist movements.</li><li>Ability to push or pull on equipment.</li><li>Good vision, including the ability to see fine details.</li><li>Ability to maintain a steady hand during procedures.</li><li>Tolerance for a variety of postures while working.</li></ul>Additional BenefitsBNF &amp; LaFeet Employee Benefits:<ul><li>Prescription Coverage</li><li>Telehealth &amp; Virtual Care</li><li>HSA Options</li><li>Wellness Program</li></ul>0% off A&ccedil;a&iacute; bowls 25% off all products and services on BNF sideJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
