Qualifications:<ul><li>
Certification as an elementary and/or secondary teacher, meeting the requirement listed in the Louisiana Standards for State certificate of school personnel, Bulletin 746, Part III, IV, VII, IX, and X.</li><li>
Minimum requirements as stated in SDE Bulletin 746 (as revised)</li><li>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
DOMAIN 1: PLANNING AND PREPARATION
 1a: SETTING INSTRUCTIONAL OUTCOMES<ul><li>The teacher outcomes represent high expectations and rigor.</li><li>The teacher outcomes are written in terms of what student(s) will learn rather than do.</li><li>The teacher outcomes represent a range of outcomes across developmental domains.</li><li>The teacher outcomes are suitable for student(s) in the class and are differentiated when necessary.</li><li>The IEPs (Individual Education Plans) are accurate and completed within timeline</li></ul> 
DOMAIN 2: THE CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT 
2a. MANAGING CLASSROOM PROCEDURES<ul><li>The teacher procedures for transitions seem to have been established, but their operation is rough.</li><li>The teacher productively engaged student(s) during work which can be small groups and/or only one student.</li><li>The teacher transitions between activities are smooth.</li></ul><div> 
DOMAIN 3: INSTRUCTION 
3a. USING QUESTIONING/PROMPTS AND DISCUSSION 
<ul><li>There are limited conversations in the classroom.</li><li>The teacher asks a mix of closed-ended and open ended questions.</li><li>The teacher uses self-parallel-talk by mapping her own actions and students&rsquo; actions with language.</li></ul></div><div>

4a. ENGAGING STUDENTS IN LEARNING

<ul><li>Develops leadership and responsibility in colleagues and students if applicable.</li><li>Demonstrates skills to receive and give constructive feedback.</li><li>Identifies problems and issues and works collaboratively to contribute ideas and find solutions.</li><li>Maintains communication with immediate supervisor, keeping him/her informed of problems, concerns, and significant developments.</li><li>Uses verbal and non-verbal communication in a respectful manner.
</li><li>Writes and speaks clearly and concisely for understanding.</li><li>Develops and maintains a safe and caring environment for students.</li><li>Represents the schools and district in a positive manner.</li><li>Adheres to Lafourche Parish School Board employee dress code.</li><li>Treats all stakeholders in a respectful and helpful manner.
</li><li>Cooperates with administration in the performance of additional duties.</li><li>Cooperates with building and district staff in planning and evaluation.</li><li>Completes tasks, reports, and documents accurately according to specified timelines and expectations.</li><li>Minimizes bias in self and others and accepts responsibility for his/her own actions.</li><li>Adheres to Board policies and procedures and administrative rules, guidelines, and regulations.</li><li>Adheres to district guidelines relative to attendance. Regularly reports to work on time and works additional hours when deemed necessary.</li><li>Adheres to ethical, legal and professional standards.</li><li>Applies laws, policies, regulations, and procedures fairly, consistently, wisely, and compassionately.
</li><li>Follows directives as assigned by supervisor.
</li><li>Refrains from revealing confidential information.</li><li>Uses proper administrative procedures for making requests and resolving conflicts.

3. The teacher performs English as a Second Language specific duties 
<ul><li>Administers evaluative measures to diagnose English proficiency of LEP (Limited English Proficient) students.</li><li>Assists designated teachers in the classroom with ESL instructional practice, management techniques and program guidelines.</li><li>Performs individual and small group tutoring.</li><li>Assists the supervisor of ESL program in securing instructional materials and equipment for classroom use.</li><li>Keeps an accurate updated list of Limited Proficient (LEP) students in need of services.</li></ul></div> 
**Domain VI denotes non-instructional indicators. Deficiencies in these areas shall not be subject to a plan of intensive assistance. 
METHOD OF EVALUATION 
The combination of the applicable measure of growth in student learning and the qualitative assessment of performance competencies and standards shall result in a composite score used to distinguish levels of overall effectiveness.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
