QUALIFICATIONS 
<ul><li>
Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in various situations and maintenance of the school</li><li>
Ability to perform work and care for tools, materials, and equipment safely</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license with acceptable motor vehicle recor</li><li>
Possess the temperament to work with and around employees and/or children</li><li>
Grasp, lift, maneuver, carry, push, pull, move, and set down (60 lbs.) objects on a daily basis safely</li><li>
Ability to analyze emergency situations accurately and take prompt actions</li><li>
Ability to read and write and make accurate arithmetic computations</li><li>
Ability to climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding</li><li>
Ability to operate and maintain a safe work environment for one self and other employees</li><li>
Safety oriented</li><li>
Pass a physical examination</li></ul> 
Reports to: Principal 
Specific Job Duties 
(1) Performs cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks on tools and equipment 
(2) Performs housekeeping duties in the maintenance of classrooms, grounds, and entire site 
(3) Assist in transporting tools, supplies, equipment, and materials as needed on school sites 
(4) Improves skills by attending training opportunities 
(5) Ability to operate power tools, such as saws, drills, wrenches, and various tools 
(6) Ability to make simple measurements, cuts, bends, shapes, applies, mixes, or otherwise handle materials and substances in accordance with instructions 
(7) Ability to operate small machinery (weed eaters, blowers, mowers, and chain saws) 
(8) Check lighting in buildings and classrooms and replace any burnt bulbs as necessary 
(9) Check emergency exit lighting and emergency lights in buildings monthly 
(10) Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Superintendent

(1) Establishes and maintains appropriate respectful, harmonious relationship with administration, school faculty, other employees, students, vendors, and the general public 
(2) &quot;Observes professional ethics as prescribed by the employee's profession/craft and in
 
accordance with state law and board policy (GAl Solicitations, GAIB Solicitations of Staff Members, GAJ, Gifts)&quot; 
(3) Adheres to Board policy, administrative rules and regulations 
(4) Seeks, shares, and respects the ideas of others 
(5) Exhibits a caring, positive attitude towards others 
(6) Maintains the confidentiality of all School Board business by refraining from accessing
 
discussing or disclosing anything outside the scope of employment unless authorized by immediate supervisor 
(7) Participates in professional growth activities, such as participation in seminars, conferences, workshops for improvement of knowledge and skills relating to best practices in the use of supplies, tools or equipment, and methods of operation 
(8) Participates in professional activities on a local, state, and national level in assigned areas (include for appropriate personnel) 
 
Communication 
(1) Understands and interprets written and verbal instructions from immediate supervisor and gives clear written and oral instructions to others as required 
(2) Accurately compiles data, summarizes information and provides written reports when required 
(3) Answers the telephone and receives visitors in a courteous and efficient manner 
(4) Follows the chain of command for various administrative procedures 
 
Attendance and Punctuality 
(1) Reports to work at the assigned time 
(2) Attends work consistently 
(3) Contacts Supervisor when absent 
(4) Scans in or out using the employee scan system as appropriate
 
 
Safety 
(1) Completes task in a safe manner as prescribed by the Safety Department or by the employee's profession/craft
 
(2) Maintains a neat and orderly work environment 
(3) Dresses appropriately for the job assigned and in compliance with state law and board policy GAMB Employee Dress Code 
(4) Displays employee ID tag at all times while on duty 
(5) Reports any unsafe conditions or any incidents of injury or damage immediately to the appropriate official 
(6) Complies with policies GAMA Employee Tobacco Use and GAMD Drug-Free Workplace when on duty 
 
Terms of Employment 
8 hours per day - 12 months (240 days) 
 
There shall be a probationary period of 90 days from date of employment for new employees. After 90 days, a decision based upon an evaluation will be rendered in regards to the employee&rsquo;s status as a permanent employee. 
 
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board&rsquo;s policy on evaluation of non-instructional personnel 
The Superintendent reserves the right to change the job and any other duties, as required, with advance written notification. 
<ul><li>Annual Salary is based on years of experience (0-40), with increases for advanced degrees.</li></ul>

SCHOOL CUSTODIAN (Larose- Cut off Middle School)

<div>Qualifications: 
<ul><li>
High School Diploma or its equivalent</li><li>
Degree or its equivalent from a certified university, business or vocational school preferred</li><li>
Must have knowledge of modern office practices and a working knowledge of computers, to include proficiency in typing, spelling and grammar</li><li>
Good communication skills</li><li>
Five years of experience in which clerical work was a major duty</li></ul> 
Reports to: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Salary Schedule: 1800 Job Category: 037 A 
Domain 1: Specific Job Duties 
1A. Knowledge and Performance 
(1) Maintain and update the personnel staff sheets for projected student enrollment. 
(2) Maintain and update specific requirements in the new hire process. 
(3) Assist the Business Manager to control budgeting for the purpose of staffing (Position Control). 
(4) Assist the Head Accountant in assembling PEP data for State Department reporting. 
(5) Prepare the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Report. 
(6) Able to transcribe materials from a mechanical recording device. 
(7) Prepare advertisements for posting of positions. 
(8) Compile and submit required documentation for unemployment claims. 
(9) Prepare multiple job category work calendars. 
Domain1: Specific Job Duties 
1B: Basic Functions 
(1) Demonstrates proficiency in drafting written correspondence, answers correspondence received by and on behalf of the supervisor/manager. 
(2) Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the development, revision and production of documents, reports, forms, and materials. 
(3) Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of office machinery as applicable to job responsibilities. 
(4) Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in database applications as applicable to job responsibilities. 
(5) Maintains and manages files, records, materials and equipment in an appropriate, accessible and current manner, including records necessary for reporting and accountability. 
(6) Able to compose correspondence, memos, and routine legal documents from general instructions. 
(7) Demonstrates considerable knowledge of computer capabilities and information and data management. 
Domain 1: Specific Job Duties 
1C: Essential Functions 
(1) Maintains the calendar of appointments and other important dates for the Human Resources Administrators. 
(2) Exercises considerable judgment in transferring telephone calls and scheduling and confirming appointments with the supervisor/manager. 
(3) Receives and returns telephone calls on behalf of the supervisor as requested using high standards of telephone techniques. 
(4) Maintains confidential and general files and records and process incoming and outgoing correspondence. 
(5) Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or by Superintendent.
