Lamb McErlane PC, a well-respected, full-service law firm headquartered in West Chester, PA, is currently seeking a Legal Secretary/Assistant for our Newtown Square, PA office. This position will provide administrative support to the attorneys located in this office and is not a remote or hybrid position. 5 years of previous experience as a legal secretary/assistant/paralegal is required.Duties include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Typing, editing, and compiling legal documents, correspondence, etc.</li><li>Reviewing documents for formatting, grammar, etc.</li><li>Transcribing handwritten documents.</li><li>Preparing documents and filing with various courts, including multiple county e-filing systems.</li><li>Setting up new matters according to the Firm's procedures.</li><li>Organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files.</li><li>Entering attorneys&rsquo; time in our billing software program, following up, and assisting with the review and approval of draft bills.</li><li>Managing and maintaining attorneys&rsquo; calendars as required, including scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms, etc.</li><li>Receptionist duties such as greeting clients and vendors, answering phones, transferring calls, and following up as required. Receptionist duties are shared among the support staff in the office.</li><li>Dealing with clients in person, by phone, and through correspondence in a professional, friendly manner.</li><li>Collaborating with and supporting the other Newtown Square office team members and interacting with attorneys and support staff in the Firm&rsquo;s headquarters and other satellite offices.</li></ul>Required skills and qualifications:<ul><li>5 years of experience in a legal office.</li><li>Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.</li><li>Experience entering attorney time in a billing system is required; experience with Tabs3 is a plus.</li><li>Familiarity with standard office equipment &ndash; scanning, copying, faxing, etc.</li><li>Effective communication skills with attorneys, co-workers, and clients &ndash; both verbal and written.</li><li>Vested in building strong client relations, including maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all firm business.</li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and communicate progress to attorneys involved.</li><li>Dependable &ndash; with a good work ethic and &ldquo;can do&rdquo; attitude.</li><li>Located within a 30-minute commute distance of Newtown Square, PA.</li></ul>Lamb McErlane PC will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2026 and has been recognized as a Top Places to Work by the Philadelphia Inquirer for several years.
