What work will you perform?
 As an Owner Operator Transportation Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting Landstar’s network of independent Owner-Operators, known as Business Capacity Owners (BCOs). These professional drivers run their own trucking businesses while partnering with Landstar for freight opportunities, safety support, and operational tools. In this role, you will serve as a primary resource for BCOs as they join the Landstar system—helping them understand revenue expectations, navigate our tools and processes, and resolve operational questions that arise as they begin running under Landstar’s authority. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, relationship-building, and helping independent business owners succeed in a fast-paced transportation environment.
 
Essential Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Establish revenue expectations and provide solutions to operational questions or concerns.</li>
<li>Conduct post-orientation follow-ups to assess and support ongoing BCO needs.</li>
<li>Facilitate communication between new BCOs/Operators, advisors, Con Ed Coordinators, and agents; assist with issue resolution.</li>
<li>Update contractor, tractor, and operator records in iSeries 400 and maintain accurate documentation.</li>
<li>Recommend improvements to orientation/CABS programs and serve as backup for Orientation and CABS Coordinators, including classroom instruction, contract renewals, hazmat recertification, and issuing ELDs.</li>
<li>Educate BCOs on key Landstar tools and resources, including LandstarOnline, Load Alerts, Lane Match, IVR cards, Profit & Loss tools, and business success applications.</li>
<li>Handle incoming calls and visits, participate in weekly orientation retention calls, and assist with safety meetings (occasionally after business hours).</li>
<li>Facilitate problem resolution between agents and BCOs and perform Hours-of-Service reviews as needed.</li>
<li>Support the driver simulator program and assist with special projects or other assignments as required</li>
</ul>
Minimum Experience and Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED</li>
<li>1 year of customer support, transportation experience, or a combination of both</li>
</ul>
Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>1 year of leadership experience</li>
<li>1 year experience Owner Operator support</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
<ul>
<li>Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to motivate and engage others</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced, and occasionally high-pressure environment</li>
<li>Proficiency in data entry, iSeries 400, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office applications</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Strong multitasking and time-management abilities; able to work with minimal supervision</li>
