Teachers must work to build inclusive, nurturing classrooms where students can be themselves and work collaboratively towards common learning goals. Teachers will work alongside other teachers, parents, and students to ensure they are providing the best education experience to all students.

 Minimum Qualifications

 Bachelor's degree in education
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience working with elementary students
 </li>
 <li>

 Preferred Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an elementary endorsement (i.e. ZC, ZG, ZO, ZP)
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous teaching experience in an urban setting
 </li>
 <li>
 Training in CRPBIS, LETRS, Go Math, UFLi, and other related instructional methodologies

 </ul>
 
 Job Responsibilities

 Demonstrate passion for and expertise of elementary content
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide world-class instruction in math, literacy, social studies, and science to elementary students
 </li>
 <li>
 Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
 </li>
 <li>
 Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
 </li>
 <li>
 Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

 Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces

 May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties
 </li>

 Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students

 Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication

 Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
