Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all bookkeeping activities align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will support our organization&rsquo;s financial health by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial reports, and reconciling accounts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values precision, transparency, and efficiency.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.</li><li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.</li><li>Prepare journal entries, perform general ledger accounting, and ensure proper double-entry bookkeeping practices are followed.</li><li>Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.</li><li>Assist with month-end closing procedures, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.</li><li>Support budgeting processes and provide detailed financial report writing to aid management decision-making.</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards, including governmental accounting if applicable.</li><li>Handle payroll processing, tax experience, and related filings as needed.</li><li>Perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.</li><li>Contribute to internal controls by maintaining meticulous records of journal entries and supporting documentation.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.</li><li>Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.</li><li>Experience working within non-profit or governmental accounting environments is desirable.</li><li>Knowledge of financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, debits &amp; credits, and account reconciliation.</li><li>Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation accurately.</li><li>Proficiency in 10-key typing for efficient data entry and processing.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks like journal entries and account analysis.</li><li>Familiarity with payroll processing and tax-related procedures is advantageous.</li><li>Strong communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration with team members.</li><li>Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and maintain high standards of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
