We are looking for a self-motivated legal assistant/paralegal to ensure the smooth running of the office and effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist with handling cases from intake to trial and all stages of pre-litigation to litigation</li><li>Provide administrative support to the lawyer and enhance office effectiveness</li><li>Handle communication with clients, witnesses, insurance company representatives, etc.</li><li>Administratively support and attend trials</li><li>Prepare drafts for incoming and outgoing discovery</li><li>Assistance with settlement offer writing</li><li>Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research</li><li>Locate and develop case-relevant information</li><li>Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence</li><li>Answer and direct phone calls from clients</li><li>Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>English-Spanish bilingual speaker preferred</li><li>Proven working experience as legal assistant, paralegal, or legal secretary</li><li>Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and the court system</li><li>Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office</li><li>Computer literacy</li><li>Working knowledge of case management software</li><li>Excellent secretarial and organizational skills</li><li>Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure</li><li>Legal Assistant certification or diploma</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Stockton, CA 95203: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
