Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to attorneys in various legal matters, particularly in personal injury law. This role requires proficiency in legal research, document management, and strong communication skills to effectively assist in case preparation and client interactions.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and client communication.</li><li>Manage and organize case files through document management systems to ensure easy access and retrieval of information.</li><li>Transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and meeting notes with accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Maintain effective phone etiquette while communicating with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals.</li><li>Proofread legal documents for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with legal standards before submission.</li><li>Support project management tasks by tracking deadlines, scheduling meetings, and coordinating with various stakeholders.</li><li>Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases.</li><li>Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with general areas of law is a plus but not mandatory.</li><li>Proficient in using all Microsoft Office Suite programs and other legal research tools.</li><li>Strong skills in document management systems to streamline workflow processes.</li><li>Excellent proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.</li><li>Effective project management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.</li><li>Exceptional interviewing skills to extract pertinent information from clients and witnesses.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.</li></ul>If you are passionate about the legal field and possess the necessary skills to thrive as a Legal Assistant, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity to contribute to our team&rsquo;s success.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Free parking</li><li>Opportunities for advancement</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Edison, NJ 08820: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
