The ideal candidate will be passionate about protecting clients&rsquo; rights in criminal proceedings while also effectively handling injury claims. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Represent clients in criminal proceedings (state and/or federal) and personal injury claims (car accidents, workplace injuries, premises liability, etc.)</li><li>Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs</li><li>Conduct client consultations, evaluate cases, and advise on legal options</li><li>Develop strategies through legal research and case investigation</li><li>Negotiate plea agreements and settlements with opposing counsel and insurers</li><li>Represent clients at depositions, mediations, hearings, pre-trials, and trials</li><li>Maintain strong client communication and manage expectations</li><li>Collaborate with paralegals, assistants, and fellow attorneys to ensure effective case management</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school</li><li>Licensed and in good standing in Missouri and Kansas (IL, TX a plus)</li><li>3+ years of experience (criminal law and/or personal injury strongly preferred)</li><li>Strong litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication abilities</li><li>Ability to manage a high-volume and diverse caseload independently</li><li>Commitment to client advocacy and ethical legal practice</li></ul>Benefits &amp; Perks<ul><li>Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses</li><li>Paid holidays and PTO</li><li>401(k) with matching</li><li>Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li><li>Professional development and advancement opportunities</li><li>Supportive, collaborative team culture</li><li>Modern co-working space with community kitchen (breakfast, lunch, snacks provided)</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>Full-time, Monday&ndash;Friday</li><li>No weekends (on-call availability applies for criminal cases)</li><li>Work Location: Kansas City, MO 64112 (commute required)</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Kansas City, MO 64112 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Kansas City, MO 64112: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
