Position OverviewWe are seeking an Immigration Attorney with 7+ years of relevant experience, licensed to practice law in Texas, to join our Dallas-based team. This position involves managing a diverse and active caseload focusing on both family-based immigration and removal defense. The ideal candidate is client-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced legal environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesFamily-Based Immigration (USCIS Practice)<ul><li>Review a wide range of immigration applications, including I-130, I-485, adjustment of status, waivers (I-601A, I-212, I-601), I-589, N-400, K visas, FOIA requests, and consular processing.</li><li>Advise clients on immigration options, eligibility requirements, supporting documentation, and case strategy.</li><li>Provide guidance and preparation for USCIS and consular interviews.</li><li>Collaborate closely with paralegals to ensure accurate, timely, and persuasive filings.</li></ul>Removal Defense (EOIR / Immigration Court)<ul><li>Represent both detained and non-detained clients in immigration court proceedings, including appearances before the BIA when necessary.</li><li>Conduct client intake and assessment, including on-site at detention facilities; develop comprehensive case plans and legal strategies.</li><li>Draft legal briefs, motions, and applications for relief such as cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustment of status, and waivers.</li><li>Attend master calendar and individual hearings; liaise with expert witnesses, medical professionals, and community partners as needed.</li><li>Stay up to date on changes in immigration law and policy; communicate legal developments to clients and internal team members.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients, ensuring they are informed of case progress and next steps.</li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and local organizations to deliver comprehensive legal services.</li><li>Efficiently manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.</li><li>Participate in professional development activities including CLEs, mentorship, and active membership in relevant legal associations (e.g., AILA).</li><li>Travel is needed for USCIS interviews, ICE visits, or out-of-state hearings.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Requirements<ul><li>Experience: 7+ years of immigration law experience with a strong emphasis on both family-based petitions and removal defense.</li><li>Education &amp; Bar Admission: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active member in good standing with the Texas Bar.</li><li>Legal Competency: Demonstrated excellence in legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom presentation.</li><li>Technical Skills: Proficiency with legal case management systems preferred.</li><li>Language Skills: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.</li><li>Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, empathy, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and care.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits (Dallas, TX Market)<ul><li>Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience</li><li>Benefits: Comprehensive package may include health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k); paid time off; professional development support; and bar dues coverage.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Richardson, TX 75080 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Richardson, TX 75080: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
