<div>Primary Duties
<ul><li>Provide leadership for estimating and planning support personnel.
</li><li>Monitor project budgeting and buy-out processes to ensure reliable information is available for estimates.
</li><li>Facilitate communication of cost history to ensure on-going evaluation of pricing information for better cost modeling and estimating.
</li><li>Monitor planning support processes to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
</li><li>Interface with marketing to ensure consideration of all relevant information, issues, and brand name recognition.
</li><li>Assist in the evaluation, planning and execution of new scope of services and profit centers.
</li><li>Monitor productivity and cost control on specific projects.
</li><li>Attend project review meetings and facilitate solutions to budget problems as required.
</li><li>Plan and implement training for estimators.
</li><li>Identify and procure profitable projects by overseeing all business development activities, including customer relationships, networking, performing public relations activities, maintaining client database, and executing the client matrices.
</li><li>Oversee all sales activities, including identifying and pre-qualifying leads, working on procurement strategies, developing proposals, responding to RFQ&rsquo;s, SOQ&rsquo;s and RFP&rsquo;s.
</li><li>Establish goals, procedures, systems, and tools used to accomplish sales/marketing tasks.
</li><li>Commit the company in the project procurement process with respect to SBU projects.
</li><li>This position supervises Estimating activities and personnel and therefore takes on the successes and failures of the team.
</li><li>Employee will work with the Executives, Estimating and Planning Support Personnel, and clients.
</li><li>Other related duties as assigned.
</li><li>Represent Abbott Construction in the community by attending appropriate industry events as approved by the Vice President.
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
</li><li>Three to five years construction-related experience.
</li><li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
</li><li>Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
</li><li>Superior communication and presentation skills.
</li><li>Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
</li><li>Utilizes good judgment and remains efficient while under stress
</li><li>Capable of communicating effectively in English both verbally and in writing
</li><li>Knowledge of all aspects of the construction process
</li><li>Must have a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, organizational skills, task oriented
</li><li>Must be willing to travel if required

Preconstruction Manager- Mission Critical

<div>Summary
An Estimator prepares estimates for various projects, shares responsibility for cost accuracy with project team and assists other estimators and managers in all types of estimating tasks.
This position is open to remote candidates.
Duties &amp; Responsibilities
<ul><li>Prepares estimates for potential projects, using hard-bid, design-build and conceptual estimating.
</li><li>Reads and understands contract documents (plans, specifications &amp; addenda).
</li><li>Performs quantity take-offs, organizes and prices information.
</li><li>Solicits bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
</li><li>Communicates with subs and suppliers to clarify pricing information.
</li><li>Prepares estimate formats in such areas as general conditions, general bidding, quantity takeoffs and bid analysis.
</li><li>Assists with the preparation of bid proposal for submittal.
</li><li>Prepares outline schedules for proposed projects.
</li><li>Assists staff members with various special projects related to estimating.
</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management related field, or equivalent education and experience.
</li><li>At least 1 year experience in estimating commercial construction projects, showing competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
</li><li>Excellent working knowledge of Timberline and Excel software.
</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
</li><li>Ability to operate office equipment, such as computer, printer, phone, copier, fax, etc.
</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills.
</li><li>Appropriate knowledge of construction practices and methods.
</li><li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Primavera systems preferred.
