Title: Human Resource Manager
Location: LBA Home Office, Dothan, AL
Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt
Job Summary: Performs human resources-related duties at a professional level and works closely with other members of the HR Team in supporting all functional areas including employee relations, training, performance management, compensation, policy implementation/compliance, staffing, benefits, and safety.
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">Pre-requisites</h2><ul><li>
Bachelors Degree or four years of related experience required. A degree in HRM or related field is preferred.</li><li>
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification is preferred.</li><li>
Bilingual preferred.</li><li>
Overnight travel required up to 30% of time.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
 Essential Functions</h2><ul><li>
Must maintain a valid Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Insurance.</li><li>
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.</li><li>
Must be able to speak and read English proficiently.</li><li>

Must be tactful and discrete in the daily performance of duties and responsibilities and maintain confidentiality.

Excellent communications, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to comprehend, interpret, and relay technical and procedural information with accuracy and clarity.</li><li>
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and work independently in a fast-paced environment with pressures of deadlines.</li><li>
Proven skills in negotiating and problem solving.</li><li>
General working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.</li><li>
Demonstrated skills in all HR functions and strategy.</li><li>
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations.</li><li>
Ability to facilitate and participate in group meetings.</li><li>
Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs. Familiar with organizational development theory and practices.</li><li>
Knowledge of principles, methods, standards, and limitations in organizing and administering Workers Compensation Program.</li><li>
Ability to interact with, support and build relationships with all levels of management.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Specific Responsibilities
</h2><ul><li>Partners with associates and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.</li><li>
Works closely with Vice President of HR and other HR Managers to maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations concerning employment.</li><li>
Assists with development of progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance and to provide programs which utilize an associate and company partnership for the health and welfare protection of the associates.</li><li>
Works closely with Vice President of HR and other HR Managers to develop and implement staffing plans and recruitment activities.</li><li>
Composes, monitors, and maintains job postings both internally and externally.</li><li>
Interviews and prescreens candidates with structured interview guides, evaluates qualifications to ensure candidates meet job specifications, and recommend interview with management.</li><li>
Assists with reviewing and approving outside labor contracts.
</li><li>Provides complete, accurate and inspiring information to candidates about the Company, hotel brand and position.
</li><li>Completes personal and professional reference checks and administers background checks for new and promoted associates.</li><li>
Prepares and extends offers of employment to selected candidates in collaboration with upper management.</li><li>
Coordinates and executes on and off-campus recruiting efforts.</li><li>
Conducts Exit Interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.</li><li>
Assists with Completing and filing EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.</li><li>
Assists in answering Companys HR Hotline, investigating, and resolving employee relations issues reported by associates.</li><li>
Assists in compiling and evaluating reports, decisions, and results of the HR department in relation to established departmental and company goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvement.</li><li>
Assists with providing benefits packets for newly eligible associates and processing benefits selections and termination of benefits.
</li><li>Facilitates benefits open enrollment to ensure participation and accuracy.</li><li>
Maintains a thorough knowledge and administers FMLA procedures and record keeping of FMLA company wide.</li><li>
Assists with managing ADA accommodation requests and reviews for reasonableness to offer guidance to management on next steps.
</li><li>Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.</li><li>
Provides support to hotels and upper management on safety and workers compensation matters. Proactively researches new programs and methods for improving safety at the property level.
</li><li>Works closely with workers compensation carrier to close claims quickly and manage open claims appropriately.
</li><li>Assists in managing Light Duty/Return to Work program, working closely with hotel management to ensure success and mitigate indemnity payments where possible.
</li><li>Assists with handling claims for General Liability and Property Liability, including investigation where necessary.
</li><li>Provides monthly metrics to regarding open claims status, trends, and suggestions for improvement in safety at the hotel.
</li><li>Performs all other HR projects and duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
 Working Conditions/Special Requirements</h2><ul><li>
Priorities and workloads are subject to change requiring flexibility and the acceptance of non-routine assignments.</li><li>
Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
