Custom metal fabrication company looking for a Fabricator I with some previous experience. 40+ hours per week to start. (Day Shift and Night Shift available)*Pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical required for all new hiresFabricators are responsible for understanding and adhering to LEM&rsquo;s Quality Management System and customer expectations to properly weld using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG welding procedures and finish by examining, grinding, and polishing products ensuring that product outputs meet customer requirements before product is released. Requiring a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship, this position is responsible for a variety of maintenance and production tasks that promote a safe, efficient production environment delivering high-quality products.RequirementsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent preferred</li><li>Minimum 1 year in fabricating or successful completion of a certified welding program</li><li>Fabrication skills including but not limited to Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and operating fabrication machinery in a manufacturing shop; working toward proficiency in at least one metal type</li><li>Ability to learn and comply with necessary safety techniques and terminology</li><li>Ability to learn and comply with basic manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures</li><li>Ability to work in a team environment</li><li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions</li><li>Ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirements</li><li>Understand basic mathematical principles and have knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, and counts</li><li>Read and operate a tape measure and caliper</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Solid work ethic and pride in workmanship</li><li>Effective verbal, written, and communication skills</li><li>Adequate fabrication and finishing skills including but not limited to welding, print reading, examining, grinding, and polishing using appropriate tools for each procedure</li><li>Good organizational and time management skills</li><li>Basic computer skills</li></ul>Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position requires an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.<ul><li>Comply with all quality system requirements and specifications</li><li>Comply with all safety system requirements and wear proper PPE and uniforms</li><li>Perform tasks in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment</li><li>Follow oral instructions to perform necessary processes</li><li>Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity</li><li>Maintain all assigned or department equipment according to procedures</li><li>Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine operations</li><li>Identify and locate required materials and parts for assigned jobs</li><li>Maintain and document proper material tracking throughout project such as deficiency logs</li><li>Maintain correct time keeping throughout project by tracking in project management software</li><li>Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.</li><li>Weld products according to customer specifications and LEM standards using Stainless TIG and MIG, Aluminum TIG and MIG, and/or Steel TIG and MIG procedures and is proficient in 1 of the 3 metal types</li><li>Properly setup and safely operate a variety of assigned equipment such as welding machine, ban saw, overhead crane, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder, and grainer according to all procedures</li><li>Examine and feel surface of workpiece for defects</li><li>Move grinder over surface of workpiece to remove scratches and imperfections</li><li>Polish ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface</li><li>Selects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specifications</li><li>Prepare overall product aesthetics for final inspection, ensuring product outputs meet the specified requirements before product is released</li><li>Assist in other areas of the facility as needed or assigned, including overtime when necessary</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Welding: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Youngsville, LA 70592 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Youngsville, LA 70592: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
