LWVUS is seeking a detail-oriented, data-curious Specialist, Email Communications to support the League&rsquo;s national digital outreach across three email programs:<ul><li>

This role focuses on executing email campaigns, supporting list health and segmentation, and helping teams effectively communicate with supporters, voters, and volunteers. This position is ideal for an early-career digital communicator excited to grow their skills in email marketing, audience engagement, and nonprofit communications.
The Specialist works collaboratively across departments and supports the operational backbone of LWV&rsquo;s email engagement strategy&mdash;ensuring messages are accurate, on time, and optimized.
This role is funded through June 30, 2026, and is designed as an opportunity for a high-performing candidate to demonstrate impact, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position based on performance and organizational needs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Email Production &amp; Deployment<ul><li>
Draft, build, format, and schedule email campaigns across multiple national platforms.</li><li>
Execute audience targeting and campaign setup with strong attention to detail.</li><li>
Maintain a consistent visual and editorial standard aligned with LWVUS guidelines.</li></ul>
List Management &amp; Segmentation<ul><li>
Support list hygiene, segmentation, and subscriber organization across databases.</li><li>
Assist with contact uploads, tagging, and maintenance processes.</li></ul>
Performance Monitoring<ul><li>
Track key email metrics including open rates, click-through rates, and engagement trends.</li><li>
Prepare basic performance reports to support continuous improvement.</li></ul>
Optimization &amp; Testing<ul><li>
Assist with A/B testing, subject line comparisons, and message optimization.</li><li>
Help maintain documented best practices for improving deliverability and engagement.</li></ul>
Collaboration &amp; Cross-Team Support<ul><li>
Coordinate with digital, communications, organizing, and development teams to ensure email alignment with national campaigns and calls to action.</li><li>
Support staff in preparing materials and assets needed for email deployment.</li></ul>
Requirements:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
2&ndash;3 years of relevant professional experience, which may include paid roles, internships, volunteer work, or part time assignments in digital communications, email marketing, organizing, or nonprofit outreach.-time assignments in digital communications, email marketing, organizing, or nonprofit outreach.</li></ul>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Required<ul><li>
Interest in email marketing, digital communications, or nonprofit engagement.</li><li>
Strong writing and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.</li><li>
Comfort working with spreadsheets, lists, and dashboards.</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accuracy.</li><li>
Commitment to the League&rsquo;s values of democracy, equity, and civic participation.</li></ul>
Preferred<ul><li>
Experience with email platforms such as EveryAction, Mailchimp, Action Network, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar tools.</li><li>
Familiarity with Engaging Networks is a plus.</li><li>
Prior experience in communications, digital engagement, or an internship in a related field.</li><li>
Interest in civic engagement, elections, advocacy, or nonprofit work.</li></ul>
