 About the Role
 
 
 
 
 
 
 The Surface Well Testing Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising well testing operations onshore and offshore. The role involves operating and maintaining test equipment, ensuring service quality, providing well test data interpretation support, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Operational Execution
 
 
 
 Perform rig-up, rig-down, pressure testing, and operation of surface well testing equipment, including:
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Test separators
 </li>
 <li>
 Choke manifolds
 </li>
 <li>
 Surge tanks
 </li>
 <li>
 Multiphasic measurement systems
 </li>
 <li>
 Burner booms
 </li>
 <li>
 Sand management systems
 </li>
 <li>
 Execute well flow operations including clean-up, flowback, build-up, and sampling.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure accurate data recording, monitoring, and reporting of well performance parameters.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct real-time troubleshooting of well testing systems and operational issues.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Safety &amp; Compliance
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead and participate in HSE meetings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and client requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain proper certifications for offshore/onshore operation (BOSIET, H2S, medical, etc.).
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Equipment Management
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Maintain and inspect equipment according to maintenance procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure proper documentation of equipment status, failures, and repairs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for well testing packages.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Client Interaction &amp; Reporting
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Work closely with the client company man, wellsite leaders, and coordinators.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide clear operational updates and ensure alignment with the test program.
 </li>
 <li>
 Deliver daily job reports, well test summaries, and data logs.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Required
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Diploma or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or related engineering discipline.
 </li>
 <li>
 2&ndash;8 years of experience in surface well testing operations (onshore and/or offshore).
 </li>
 <li>
 Solid understanding of pressure control equipment and well testing processes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with standard well test equipment and surface flow systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, H2S, medical).
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Preferred
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Experience with major service companies.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Familiarity with:
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Early production facilities (EPF)
 </li>
 <li>
 Sand management
 </li>
 <li>
 MPFM (multiphase flowmeter) systems
 </li>
 <li>
 Burner management
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of data acquisition systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 IWCF Level 1 or 2 (advantage)
 </li>

Surface Well Testing - Operator/Specialist/Engineer

 My client is an International Service Company who specialise in exploration and Production projects globally. They are looking to expand in Kuwait and actively searching a Facilities Engineer to be based in Kuwait for a 3-4 month Contract.
 
 
 
 
 The Facilities Engineer must have at least 15 years experience in:
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Facility Design and Development: Design and develop oil and gas facilities, including production platforms, pipelines, processing plants, and storage facilities, for congested oilfields.
 </li>
 <li>
 Space Optimization: Optimize facility layout to maximize space utilization, reduce congestion, and ensure safe operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Debottlenecking &amp; Performance Optimization: Identify and implement debottlenecking solutions to increase production capacity and efficiency in congested facilities. Use surface network models to identify throughput constraints and prioritize debottlenecking interventions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Implement flow assurance strategies (e.g., thermal management, chemical dosing) to sustain production in constrained flowlines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintenance and Operations: Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure facilities operate efficiently and effectively.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with reservoir, production engineers to align network models with reservoir forecasts and facility limits.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 Technical Expertise:
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Strong knowledge of engineering principles, including mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering, with a focus on facilities design and operation in congested oilfields.
 </li>
 <li>
 Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions to optimize facility performance and reduce congestion.
 </li>
 <li>
 Project Management: Ability to manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
 </li>
