The Opportunity
Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically inclined Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our Service team in Phoenix, Arizona. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities
As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:
<ul><li>Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
</li><li>Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner</li>
<li>Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
</li><li>Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites</li>
<li>Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork</li>
<li>Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies</li>
</ul>
Required Skills &amp; Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
<ul><li>At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
</li><li>Relevant trade certification</li>
<li>Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset</li>
<li>Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
</li><li>Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
</li><li>High school diploma
</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required
