The Meat Clerks play a vital role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience by ensuring that Lee&rsquo;s Marketplace guests receive fresh, high-quality meat products, excellent service, and a clean, well-stocked department. This position is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and merchandising a variety of fresh meat and seafood items, while maintaining strict standards of food safety, sanitation, and product rotation.<br>

<h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</b></h1>
<ul><li>Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb, based on customer orders and store requirements.</li>
<li>Assist customers by answering questions about meat cuts, preparation methods, and cooking recommendations. Provide suggestions and help customers select the right products for their needs.</li>
<li>Ensure the meat department is fully stocked with fresh products. Display products in an appealing and hygienic manner. Replenish stock regularly to meet demand.</li>
<li>Keep the meat department, including workstations, utensils, and display cases, clean and organized. Follow all food safety regulations and proper hygiene practices.</li>
<li>Monitor inventory levels, check for expiration dates, and rotate stock to minimize waste. Assist in ordering products as needed.</li>
<li>Follow all health and safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear and handling equipment safely. Ensure compliance with all company policies and local regulations regarding food safety.</li>
<li>Accurately package meat products, including weighing and labeling packages with the correct price and product information.</li>
<li>Work closely with other meat department staff, store managers, and other departments to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction.</li>
</ul><b>Guest Service:</b>
<ul><li>Greet and assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner.</li>
<li>Provide knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries.</li>
<li>Promote and exemplify a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication with guests and team members.</li>
<li>Provides excellent guest service by acknowledging guests promptly and taking their orders accurately. Prepares and processes the guest&rsquo;s orders promptly and finalizes their purchase in a friendly manner.

</ul><b>Product Handling:</b>
<ul><li>Stock shelves and maintain displays according to store standards.</li>
<li>Ensure product freshness by rotating stock and checking expiration dates.</li>
<li>Assist in unloading deliveries and organizing stock rooms as needed.</li>
<li>Package and label products using a computer program.</li>
<li>Assists the department to maintain proper freshness, pricing, code dating, tare and merchandising of products in compliance with company policies and procedures.</li>
</ul><b>Cleanliness and Safety:</b>
<ul><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area.</li>
<li>Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.</li>
<li>Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to management.</li>

<ul><li>Proactively watching for the quality of all items coming through the checkstand. Replacing items as needed prior to completing the transaction.</li>
<li>Bag groceries with care, following proper bagging procedures to prevent damage and ensure food safety</li>
<li>Separate items such as raw meat, chemicals, and fragile products to avoid cross-contamination</li>
<li>Ensure heavy or bulky items are bagged appropriately and double-bagged when needed</li>
<li>Assist in returning go-backs or misplaced products to the correct shelves when assigned</li>
<li>Assist with product facing in the check stand end caps during slower periods. Ensure items are pulled forward, properly aligned with the correct shelf tags, and not over-faced, maintaining a clean, organized appearance that reflects a &ldquo;grand-opening&rdquo; standard of presentation.</li>
<li>Report any damaged or leaking products to supervisors.</li>
</ul><b>Cleanliness and Safety:</b>
<ul><li>Routinely checking guest and team member areas of the check stand and walkways for debris, trash, or hazards, and promptly remove or report them to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.</li>

<li>Keep bagging stations stocked and tidy throughout the shift</li>
