Responsibilities:
<div>Under the direction of the department manager, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department and employee performance. Exercises discretionary judgment in solving problems and working with employees. Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices to ensure proper operation of equipment for the patients, employees, visitors, and physicians within the boundaries of Legacy Health.</div>
Qualifications:
<div><b>Education:</b></div><div>
High School diploma or the equivalent required; Engineering degree or the equivalent experience preferred.</div><div><br>
</div><div><b>Experience:</b></div><div>
Hospital engineering experience preferred.</div><div>
Minimum three years facilities maintenance experience preferred; prior supervisory experience preferred.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Skills:</b></div><div>
Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques (i.e., knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, grounds maintenance and related building trades) required.</div><div>
Solid interpersonal relations and verbal/written communication skills.</div><div>
Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs required.</div><div>
Demonstrated comprehension of and use of proper ergonomics.</div><div>
Ability to plan, develop and facilitate training/in-service modules in an effective manner.</div><div>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li><div>Receives and coordinates requests for assistance from Safety/Security personnel within Legacy Health and with external community partners.</div></li><li><div>
Provides quick, accurate, professional, and courteous service in all communications and interactions.</div></li><li><div>
Applies working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.</div></li><li><div>
Follows established protocols and procedures consistently in all situations.</div></li><li><div>
Communicates necessary services to Safety/Security Officers or other relevant departments promptly.</div></li><li><div>
Responds calmly and efficiently to emergency situations.</div></li><li><div>
Monitors all communication channels, asks appropriate questions according to protocol, and notifies designated personnel as required.</div></li><li><div>
Maintains accurate logs, records, and call lists.</div></li><li><div>
Completes and submits reports in a timely manner.</div></li><li><div>
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.</div></li></ul>
Qualifications:
<div><b>Education</b>:</div><ul><li>
High School Diploma of equivalent required.
</li><li>Associates of arts degree in Criminal Justice, Communications or equivalent preferred.</li></ul><div><b>
Experience</b>:
</div><ul><li>Minimum two years experience in Corrections, Military, Law Enforcement, First Responder or related Security.
</li><li>Minimum one year experience with heavy public contact with an emphasis on customer service.</li><li>
One year experience as a Legacy Safety/Security Officer preferred.</li><li>
Experience with dispatch related software and equipment.</li><li>
Must be trained at the following campuses within 120 days of starting the position: Emanuel, Good Samaritan, Holladay Park, Mount Hood, Meridian Park, and Salmon Creek Hospital.</li></ul><div><b>

Licensure:
<ul><li>Successful completion of both classroom portion of MOAB training certification within 120 days of the first day of placement within the department and then recertification every two years thereafter.</li><li>
DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) unarmed professional temporary certification (PS 20) or current DPSST unarmed professional certification required upon placement. The DPSST unarmed professional certification must be obtained within 120 days of the first day of placement in the department.</li></ul>
