Position Overview: Legal for Good, a woman-owned law firm founded in 2010 that focuses on advising nonprofit organizations, is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney with knowledge of nonprofit law to join our team. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of the office and efficient management of legal documents and client communications. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative / Executive Support<ul><li>Answer phones, greet clients, and manage front office communications.</li><li>Administer attorney calendars, coordinating client appointments, court dates, and other internal/external meetings.</li><li>Perform basic document intake, data entry, indexing, and file organization.</li><li>Manage client intake and onboarding processes by scheduling initial consultations, sending post-consultation follow-up correspondence, and opening new client matters in Lawmatics, Clio, and Dropbox.</li><li>Facilitate file management, including client follow-up, project tracking, requests for reviews, and updates to client contact information.</li><li>Support internal projects, events, and presentations.</li><li>Assist with running occasional errands, such as picking up office supplies, postage, or other items as requested.</li><li>Order office supplies, coordinate vendor relationships, and manage overall office operations.</li></ul>Light Legal / Client Support<ul><li>Under attorney supervision, assist in preparing and organizing client documents.</li><li>Draft, format, proofread, and finalize correspondence, reports, and other documents.</li><li>Maintain strict client and firm confidentiality.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prior experience as an executive assistant, administrative assistant, or equivalent role (required).</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (required) and comfort with learning new tools.</li><li>Experience with Dropbox, Clio, Lawmatics, and/or any CRM system is highly desirable.</li><li>Process- and system-oriented with the ability to establish and follow efficient workflows</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to shift gears quickly as priorities change.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a small team setting.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and client service skills, with the ability to work effectively and calmly with a wide range of people, including those under pressure or facing urgent situations</li><li>Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to reason through complex issues with curiosity, research and investigate for clues and answers, distinguish the high priority tasks from others, and ask questions if/when stuck.</li><li>Willingness to take on/learn new tasks, including those that have no established precedent within the firm.</li><li>Proactive, flexible, resourceful, and able to work independently.</li><li>Professional demeanor, high discretion, and respect for confidentiality.</li></ul>Why Join Us:<ul><li>Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on nonprofit organizations, their missions, and the Minnesota nonprofit sector.</li><li>Collaborative and supportive work environment with a dedicated team.</li><li>Professional development and continuing education opportunities.</li><li>Competitive salary and benefits package.</li><li>Flexible hours to accommodate both the needs of our clients and a healthy work-life balance.</li></ul>How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are the ideal candidate for this role.
