For more than 50 years, Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV) has been providing free, high-quality legal counsel in civil matters when basic human needs are at stake, including: eviction and foreclosure prevention, domestic violence, disability, elder law, healthcare, consumer fraud, and more. Our services support almost 600,000 poor and low-income families and individuals who cannot afford an attorney in our seven-county service area. With the gap separating those who can and cannot afford legal representation widening each day, we work to ensure that everyone has equal access to justice, regardless of their ability to pay. As the only provider of comprehensive civil legal services in the lower and mid-Hudson Valley (Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan), LSHV is proud to have handled over 12,000 cases impacting nearly 30,000 household members, including 10,000 children last year. LSHV is made up of ten offices, and a dedicated and highly skilled staff of attorneys, paralegals and administrative professionals.</p><p>

Position Description</b></p><p>
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Associate to perform administrative tasks to support effective and efficient recruiting and other human resources operations.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Duties/Responsibilities</b></h2><ul><li>
Maintain updated job descriptions</li><li>
Source potential candidates from various online channels (e.g. social media, Indeed and other professional platforms)</li><li>
Craft recruiting emails to attract passive candidates</li><li>
Create job requisitions in LSHV&rsquo;s applicant tracking system</li><li>
Pre-screen candidates</li><li>
Assist in interviewing candidates (via phone, video and in-person)</li><li>
Advertise job openings on LSHV&rsquo;s careers page, social media, job boards, and internally</li><li>
Conduct Reference checks</li><li>
Prepare notices of intent to hire union employees; prepare offer letters</li><li>
Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits</li><li>
Monitor key HR metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire</li><li>
Participate in job fairs</li><li>
Assist with the onboarding of new hires, including the preparation of IT tickets for onboarding and offboarding of employees</li><li>
Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation</li></ul><div><ul><li>
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records</li><li>
Provide administrative support to the HR department</li><li>
Assist with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, etc.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Required Skills/Abilities:</b></h2><ul><li>
Experience as an HR Recruiter or similar role</li><li>
Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases; experience with ADP Workforce Now, a plus</li><li>
Experience with sourcing techniques</li><li>
Understanding of referral programs</li><li>
Very good verbal and written communication skills</li><li>
Good judgement</li><li>
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy</li><li>
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li></ul><div><ul><li>
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software</li></ul></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Education:</b></h2><div><ul><li>
Minimum Associate degree, preferably in a related field</li><li>
Related office experience, preferred</li></ul><p><b>
Salary</b>: $62,000-$70,000 DOE, with excellent benefits that include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability coverage, as well as a defined contribution to a 403 (b), loan repayment assistance, and paid parental leave. After a brief probationary period, this position may permit work from home up to two days per week. Professional development includes access to job-related trainings, CLEs, a Mentoring Program, and an Emerging Leaders Program.</p><p>
