<div>Summary / Objective:
<ul><li>This is a skilled grounds maintenance position. A position in this class performs a variety of tasks in the care and maintenance of parks and sports fields. Work includes the operation and routine maintenance of power-equipment and repairs to recreational and related facilities and equipment. A position in this class reports directly to a supervisory position.
</li></ul>Position Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Operates powered equipment, trim grass; services power equipment by changing oil, lubricating and adjusting as necessary; maintains hand tools by cleaning, drying and storing properly.
</li><li>Applies trade related pesticides and fertilizers as directed.
</li><li>Maintains grounds; rake leaves, picks up litter and keeps areas tidy and in good appearance; clears ditches and removes brush from trails and pathways.
</li><li>Performs repair work at park facilities; cleans and maintains facilities and equipment associated with assigned area.
</li><li>Maintains irrigation systems by replacing valves, repairing broken water pipelines; performs repair work and cleans and maintains facilities and equipment associated with assigned area.
</li><li>Use chainsaws to fell and buck trees. Use chippers to remove branches.
</li><li>Remove snow and ice, by shoveling, plowing, or applying deicer.
</li><li>Performs other work as assigned.

</li></ul>Requirements and Qualifications:
<ul><li>High School Diploma required
</li><li>Must possess a valid PA driver's license, Class A CDL
</li><li>Must have, or obtain a Category 23 Certified Pesticide Applicators License within one year of hire.
</li><li>Six months experience in grounds maintenance work.
</li><li>Basic knowledge of methods, techniques, materials and equipment used in grounds maintenance work.
</li><li>Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds.
</li><li>Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and work well with others.
</li><li>Ability to work out-of-doors in all climatic conditions.
</li><li>Occasional Evening/Weekend/Holiday hours will be required.</li></ul></div>
