Job Title: In-House CounselThe Impact You Will HaveLiberty Home Guard is the country&rsquo;s fastest-growing and top consumer-rated home warranty provider, licensed and regulated in all 50 states and Washington D.C. We provide homeowners with coverage for home systems and appliance breakdowns while also serving as a concierge for all home repair needs.We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join our legal team. This role will focus on claims management, regulatory compliance, and insurance-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in home warranty policies, contract law, consumer protection regulations, and dispute resolution processes.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide legal guidance on home warranty claims, coverage disputes, and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Oversee claims litigation, including arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings.</li><li>Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to warranty services, vendor agreements, and insurance policies.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing home warranty providers.</li><li>Manage and coordinate with outside counsel on active litigation and regulatory matters.</li><li>Develop legal strategies to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency in claims handling.</li><li>Assist in responding to consumer complaints, regulatory inquiries, and insurance-related legal issues.</li><li>Stay updated on changes in home warranty, insurance, and consumer protection laws, providing timely recommendations to leadership.</li><li>Oversee updates and improvements to the service contract terms and conditions</li><li>Work with all operations, ranging from sales operations to customer service operations, to vendor service operations and much more, to ensure that they operate efficiently as a true partner and stakeholder to operations.</li><li>Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Bring to the Team:<ul><li>Strong knowledge of home warranty regulations, insurance law, and claims management.</li><li>Exceptional legal research, negotiation, and contract drafting skills.</li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally and provide clear legal guidance to non-legal teams.</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul>Education &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.</li><li>Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.</li><li>3+ years of experience in insurance law, claims litigation, or home warranty-related legal work.</li><li>Prior experience with regulatory compliance in the home warranty or insurance industry is highly preferred.</li><li>Trial/Litigation experience is a plus.</li></ul>Pay Rate: $175k-210k annually.Please note: This position is open to hybrid work arrangements, with exact details to be discussed during the final stages of the recruitment processOther Titles: General Counsel, AttorneyJob Type: Full-timePay: $170,000.00 - $210,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Referral program</li></ul>Work Location: In person
