<div><div><p>The Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing large-scale datasets and developing predictive models to optimize user engagement and retention in our mobile applications. This role works cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to optimize user retention and mobile app performance by supporting data-driven decision-making. This role combines technical data science experience, knowledge of mobile app metrics, and experience in BigQuery to help optimize user experiences and support data-driven growth. The Data Scientist provides data solutions that equip teams and ministries to further Life.Church&rsquo;s mission and to reach people for Christ.</p><br>

<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What You&rsquo;ll Do
</b></h3><div><p><b>Analyze data and develop data-driven solutions.</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Analyze user behavior, engagement, and app performance using BigQuery.</li>
<li>Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor user acquisition, retention, and in-app behaviors.</li>
<li>Conduct funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and segmentation studies to uncover growth opportunities.</li>
<li>Support the development of predictive models to improve app personalization, content recommendations, and ad targeting.</li>
<li>Assist in modeling churn prediction, user segmentation, and LTV estimation.</li>
<li>Utilize BigQuery ML and other cloud-based tools to deploy models efficiently.</li>
<li>Participate in the design and analysis of A/B tests for new features and marketing strategies.</li>
<li>Apply statistical techniques to interpret results and draw conclusions.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Collaborate with YouVersion teams and communicate data findings.</b></p>

<li>Collaborate with teams to implement experimentation best practices.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Data Engineers to maintain ETL pipelines and ensure data quality.</li>
<li>Support data validation and standardization processes for mobile app datasets.</li>
<li>Build dashboards and reports using tools like Looker or Tableau to communicate findings.</li>
<li>Present analytical insights and recommendations to product and marketing stakeholders.</li>

<ul><li>Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.</li>
<li>Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.</li>
<li>Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.</li>
<li>Familiarity with visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.</li>
<li>Understanding of mobile app analytics, including metrics related to engagement and retention.</li>
<li>Exposure to app tracking tools like Firebase, Adjust, or AppsFlyer.</li>
<li>Exposure to additional Google Cloud tools (e.g., Dataflow, Pub/Sub) preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of experimental design, causal inference, or mobile marketing analytics preferred.Interest in app store optimization (ASO) and growth experimentation preferred.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related field, Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li>
<li>2-4 years of experience in data science or analytics, mobile app data experience preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency with Google BigQuery and SQL.</li>
<li>Experience with Python or R for data analysis and machine learning.</li>
