In addition to being responsible for providing basic care and assistance with activities of daily living, you would be an integral part of a team whose energy, compassion, creativity and talents are valued and rewarded. Essential Duties:
<ul>
<li>Administer medications in accordance with accepted practices presented in the Virginia Board of Nursing Medication Aide Regulations.</li>
<li>Document in Medication Administration Record (MAR) all medications administered.</li>
<li>Check and record vital signs, weights and blood sugars as ordered and record.</li>
<li>Successfully pass a medication administration observation at least annually.</li>
<li>Provide for or assist patients with activities of daily living as needed, including bathe/shower according to schedule, oral care, toileting, dressing, etc.</li>
<li>Assist residents with transfers and ambulation as directed and ordered by the physician using proper body mechanics. Use of facility gait belts and mechanical devices is required.</li>
<li>Assist other staff with heavy lifting, transferring, and use of proper equipment according to policy and physicians&rsquo; orders.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school graduate/GED; Must be 18 years or older</li>
<li>Current registration as a Medication Aide and Nurse Aide in good standing issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassion</li>
<li>Good collaboration and teamwork skills</li>
<li>Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities</li>
<li>In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations</li>
<li>Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions</li>
<li>Comfortable working with specific populations of patients, including elderly patients and those with special needs</li>
<li>Physical strength and stamina</li>
