How you&rsquo;ll contribute
Utilization Review Specialist facilitates clinical reviews on all patient admissions and continued stays. UR analyzes patient records to determine legitimacy of admission, treatment, and length of stay and interfaces with managed care organizations, external reviewers, and other payers. UR advocates on behalf of patients with substance abuse, dual diagnosis, psychiatric or emotional disorders to manage care providers for necessary treatment. UR contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification of insurance benefits throughout the patient&rsquo;s stay and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company&rsquo;s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.

Qualifications and requirements<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required. Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li><li>
Previous utilization review experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.</li><li>
License: Current unencumbered clinical license preferred.</li><li>
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) preferred. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.</li></ul>

How you&rsquo;ll contribute<ul><li>
Educate the community on acute rehabilitation to develop a census through face-to-face contacts.</li><li>
Develop business based on the strategic goals of the rehabilitation program.</li><li>
Face-to-face connections within the territory to build relationships with referral sources to increase census.</li><li>
Identifies barriers to the admission process and creates solutions with the assistance of the program director.</li><li>
Requires onsite and in-territory work through face-to-face contact with patients, families, and referral sources.</li><li>
Completes in-person in-services and presentations to educate on acute rehabilitation programs and services.</li><li>

Qualifications and requirements:
 At a minimum, should hold a 2-year degree. A graduate holding a four-year degree from a college program with a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a health related, business or marketing area of concentration, nursing preferred.<ul><li>
Education: Minimum 2-year degree required. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a health-related, business, or marketing field preferred.</li><li>
Experience: Previous experience in clinical liaison, marketing, or healthcare sales preferred.</li><li>
License: Current license to practice as required by applicable state licensure regulations.</li></ul>
