&lt;Job Overview&gt; We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Restaurant Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of our restaurant by managing accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in financial data, and assisting with compliance and reporting. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial records and contribute to the smooth functioning of our accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment while applying your strong accounting knowledge and technical skills.&lt;Duties&gt;<ul><li>Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Margin Edge, Toast, etc.</li><li>Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure proper tracking and timely payments.</li><li>Assist with general ledger accounting, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).</li><li>Support payroll management processes using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate employee compensation and tax compliance.</li><li>Conduct account reconciliation activities to verify the accuracy of financial data across systems such as Ceridian or PeopleSoft.</li><li>Collaborate on budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting tasks to support restaurant operations and management decision-making.</li><li>Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits related to governmental or non-profit accounting standards when applicable.</li></ul>&lt;Skills&gt;<ul><li>Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.</li><li>Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Margin Edge, Toast POS.</li><li>Experience with payroll management systems such as Paychex or ADP is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience in restaurant operations both FOH and BOH.</li><li>Knowledge of financial concepts like debits &amp; credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis.</li><li>Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.</li><li>Familiarity with tax experience related to payroll taxes or other financial obligations is a plus.</li><li>Strong math skills combined with excellent attention to detail for account analysis and financial reporting.</li><li>Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit processes.
