Opportunity:Lighthouse Therapy is looking for Speech Pathologists to work remotely as a 1099 contractor with California school districts for the 25/26 School Year.What you will need:<ul><li>Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology</li><li>Active California license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or willingness to apply for licensure</li><li>Reliable Internet Access</li><li>A dedicated computer with a webcam for providing services</li><li>A dedicated or quiet space for sessions</li><li>Familiarity with communication disorders</li><li>Ability to build rapport with students</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Positive and patient demeanor</li><li>(California Only) A current negative TB test within the past four years.</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Previous experience providing speech-language pathology services in an educational setting</li><li>2+ years experience working in schools</li></ul>Commitment:<ul><li>Willingness to support a full caseload of 45 - 55 students per week for the 2025-2026 school year &ndash; with potential for renewal</li><li>As a 1099 contractor, you are in control of your caseload. It is okay if you change your mind and take on fewer students. However, Lighthouse Therapy asks that you be willing to accept a caseload of at least 20 students.</li><li>Caseloads are not guaranteed. Lighthouse Therapy asks that you be willing to work with a minimum of 20 students per week. However, this does not guarantee you will have referrals for 20 students. Even if you start at the beginning of the school year, it may take several weeks for referrals to come in and your caseload to build.</li></ul>Full Caseload Clarification:This opening is for individuals who want a partial or full caseload. Partial caeload size typically translates to 15 hours per week with a 20 student minimum. Full caseload size typically translates to 20 - 25 hours a week of direct service time and 35 - 40 hours per week in total billable time.Q - How does Lighthouse define caseload?A - At Lighthouse Therapy, we define a &quot;Student&quot; as a child receiving service for 30 minutes once a week. So, a caseload of 20 students equals 10 hours of direct therapy time.Q&mdash;What if I see students who require more time? What if I need to see a student for 30 minutes twice a week instead of once a week?A&mdash;Under Lighthouse Therapy's caseload definition, &quot;a student is a child receiving service for 30 minutes once a week.&quot; If you were to have a child receiving service for 30 minutes twice a week, then that child would count as two students.Q&mdash;Why does Lighthouse Therapy discuss a time commitment in &quot;Students&quot; and not &quot;Hours&quot;?A&mdash;At Lighthouse Therapy, everything we do is about our mission.
