<div>Lincoln County Transit is looking for a <b>Transit Dispatcher</b> to join their team in their mission to connect all parts of Lincoln County. This person will dispatch and schedule for Lincoln County Transportation Service District (TRANSIT) system, which includes Dial-A-Ride and regular Transit Operations. As well as assist in revenue and customer tracking.</div><div><b><br>

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><div><div><div><div><b>Coordinate ride requests from the public:</b></div><div><ul><li>
Receive ride requests from the public via the telephone.</li><li>
Dispatch buses in response to customer needs and requests.</li><li>
Operate two-way radio.</li><li>
Document incidents, complaints and general information received.</li></ul></div></div></div><div><div><div><b><br>
Receive trip sheets, vehicle inspection reports, and other information (written or verbal) from transit drivers:</b></div><div><ul><li>
Receive receipts and makes deposits of monies (fares) collected.</li><li>
Issue road advisories to bus drivers as needed.</li></ul></div></div></div><div><div><div><b><br>
Assist in the preparation of flyers and media information to publicize system information and special events:</b></div><div><ul><li>
Utilizes telephone and computer to maintain, update and monitor client files.</li></ul></div></div></div><div><div><div><b><br>
Serve as a liaison between the public and the transit system</b></div><div><ul><li>
Alert proper authorities and follows established policies and procedures in a calm and focused manner in the case of bus incidents or accidents.</li><li>
Assist walk-in clients at the customer service window.</li><li>
Promote good public and client relations by providing a friendly, positive, accurate and efficient service.</li><li>
Handle sensitive information and matters in a discreet and tactful manner.</li><li>
Receive, records and stores lost and found articles.</li></ul></div></div></div><div><div><b><br>
Assist in the training of new dispatchers in policy, procedure, customer protocols and general office skills.</b></div></div></div></div><br>

High School Diploma / GED</div><div></div><div><b><br>
EXPERIENCE</b></div><div>
One-year similar experience or any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the above-described duties.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Desirable Qualifications: </b>Bilingual competencies for Latino population are preferred.</div><div><b><br>
Knowledge of/Ability to:</b></div><ul><li>
Working knowledge of Lincoln County geography.</li><li>
Knowledge and comprehension of clerical office procedures including record keeping and reporting.</li><li>
Knowledge of public transit operation practices and procedures.</li><li>
Bus routes, schedules, and street locations within the transit system service area.</li><li>
Complete hands-on fire extinguisher training.</li></ul><div><b><br>

The County's current contribution rate is 11%.
